What does "alcohol was not a fix" mean
And can you open it and take photos of the board
i will see if i can do that
Being mindful that you have to be very gentle when opening it, else you'll strip the screws out or rip the tiny unremovable ribbon cable
ive never done this before, so ill first look up a video
I mean i used iso 99% alcohol and swiped inside the cartridge slot
If this is done correctly and you still have issues, we'll see for opening the console
done, no black marks, still not reading cartridge. Will look up how to open console and will get back to you
this might need to be postponed, i don't have a triwing screwdriver i don't think
I ordered a repair kit for tomorrow
The micro needs very small screwdrivers
What kit did you order ?
I could also get this one (i cancelled this one above incase its no good)
I would recommend ifixit kits but those might be good - I just can't vouch for those
its 99$ so I'll try the 142 piece one first
Tbf I wouldn’t get the set with the plastic handle. It’s very cheap and the weight of the metal handle helps a bit
I would always choose the Wiha /Xiaomi kit over any iFixit kit if it is available. The bits are much better.
@lament notch My tools are out for delivery. Do I only need to remove the back to expose the full cartridge slot?
