every time i try to start a new game as soon as professor oak shows up on screen it plays a random sound effect then freezes, it's my dad's old copy and i used to play it all the time when i was little and i'm hoping to play it again, i just need help to figure out what's wrong with it

I'm trying to inspect the traces here but the camera kinda make up pixels when the light is not good
Would you be able to take new pictures with - say, flat on a table with good light no zoom ? 🙂

These red circles look a bit weird to me, but it may only be the picture, since the other side looks clean (green circle)
On this picture and the previous one I saw a line across the connectors (red line)
Can you inspect that ?
If all is good here, then we'll check the chips legs

That looks like a loose chip leg, I doubt it is making proper contact with the board...

Yeah, crusty at least, that was my next target along with an overall check of legs
