did you use the same LED that you initially put in backwards or take a new one? also do you know the forward voltage of the LED you're using?

I used a new one. I also installed a 5V power regulator Idk if that plays a role here

the power for the LED comes straight from the battery, not the power reg board, so that shouldn't matter
