I recently changed the battery in my Pokémon Sapphire cartridge, but I'm still encountering a "dry battery" message. I used a multimeter to check the voltage, and it reads 3V, which is good.

Background
I've successfully replaced batteries in two other Pokémon games, and they both worked fine afterward. So, I'm a bit puzzled as to why Sapphire is still showing issues.

Steps Taken

  1. Battery Replacement: Replaced the old battery with a new one, ensuring proper polarity.
  2. Voltage Check: Verified that the new battery has 3V using a multimeter.
  3. Contact Cleaning: Cleaned the cartridge contacts with isopropyl alcohol to ensure a good connection.

Questions
• Has anyone else experienced this issue after a battery replacement?
• Are there any additional steps or checks I should consider?
• Could there be other components in the cartridge that might be failing?
Any advice or experiences would be greatly helpful.
