So basically I have added a IPS screen and replaced the shell
Now when I press the A button, the game restarts, the battery light also flicks a bit and turns red for a sec
What can I do to fix this?

looks like when you press the A button the top shell might be pressing on the switch and cutting off the power, you might want to check the inside of the switch.

The LED light flickering is also a sign of a dirty power switch. But hey, feel free to not follow my advice.
Also I notice some blue dots where the switch is, could it be corrosion? It might be worth checking that out as well...
It's almost definitely your power switch that needs cleaning. Unless you've somehow tied the main system power into the bias voltage for the A button only.
i tried again but its still the same, when i press A resets, the other buttons are okay

Yes, I do. Power switch problems are extremely common and impact basically every console and perfectly match the symptoms you're describing. What seems likely to me is that you're pressing the button nearest the switch and causing the board to flex a little (as it does) which pushes the switch just barely out of alignment.
