Months ago, I recieved an EZ-Flazh Jr. which works pretty well. I replaced the battery the same day I got it, and its been working fine until now.

I have not used the cartridge in a few weeks, and all of a sudden, booting the cartridge makes the screen stay stuck on "Loading..." indefinitley.

  • The game boy color I am using is unmodded.
  • I have a modded GBA and it results in the same behavior as well.
  • Displays the same behavior with an SD card inserted and without an SD card inside.
  • Other cartridges (Kirby's Dream Land for example) work good in the GBC/GBA

Any help?

How long is it hanging on the loading screen before you intervene? Have you tried a new SD card? Or perhaps reformatting your current SD card? Are you on the latest firmware?

It doesn't work without an SD card (just hangs on "LOADING") so that tells me your issue is likely related.

Based on how little detail you've provided on this, I expect you're using an unbranded card that came with the cart. The unbranded cards are kinda known for their lack of reliability. If you can fix the issue by reformatting the card and reloading the firmware and your ROMs/saves, then you should consider replacing the uSD with a name brand equivalent.

I got it a few days before I recieved the card, to ensure there was less potential for corruption

Putting this SD card in my PC shows no signs of missing/corrupted files, but I will try another SD card

Back it up, format with the tool I linked, reload the firmware fresh, and restore your ROMs/saves and try again.
