Please remember to provide as much information as possible including all troubleshooting steps you have already taken. If this is a hardware issue, please provide clear in-focus images of the issue, PCB (circuit board), installation, and any soldering you have done. Help us help you, posts with insufficient information will be deleted
Because this post has the "Game Boy Advance" tag, we recommend checking out this wiki page https://gbwiki.org/en/consoles/advance
Now do this
well its certainly dirty, at least
how can i turn off slow chat
Miketf1 shared a video with you in #modding, did you watch it?
You don't. Just type your thoughts out all at once.
im to autistic for it but i will try
you mean the blue thing where should i put it in do you know the minute of the video
Did you even click the link Mike sent you? He already timestamped it.
take a look at the power switch. the cover is already visibly corroded. it won't look much better from the inside. I would start by cleaning the switch
he did say in modding it turned on but the sound wasnt working, idk if cleaning the switch is connected to the sound? the scroll wheel looks a bit rough though
Doesn't turn on idk why
oh, didn't realize that changed
wym
what have you done to it since you opened it up?
nothing wym
you opened it and did nothing to it?
"nothing" is wrong, otherwise it would still work. even if you weren't aware of it, something must have led to the defect
i opened it up because my old case was bropken it was a purple one
okay so you swapped the shell?
yeah now i have the blue one but donno why it doesnt turn on i mean the light is on but at the display it shows up nothing
so it turns on
the light
It's important to be specific with details. If the light (the green/red LED) is turning on, that means the system is powering on successfully.
green
The issue, now, is the screen. Can you unlatch the bracket holding in the ribbon cable and remove it?
If the system is turning on but there's no picture, the first thing to look at is the screen. Pictures of the bracket it goes into, as well as the ribbon cable (both ends) would help
I dont really like the slow mode ...
Okay, so pull these tabs out just a little bit. Put the ribbon cable back in, then press those tabs back down
that's just how it is in troubleshooting. i dont personally see anything wrong with the ribbon cable, but a common issue is not fully seating the ribbon cable when you put it back. maybe someone else sees something i dont
Then try powering it on
i dont know what i am doing wrong im so sick in the head im getting crazy
Take a picture of this part again, let us see your progress
i think i damaged the cable
Take a picture of this part again, let us see your progress
We can't help you if we can't see it
i honestly don't see anything wrong with it... You're lifting the tabs, then pushing them back in after inserting the ribbon, right?
i tried so many times pluging in pluging out but nothing is hapening
did you lift the tab
we are going to go slow, because you like to not answer questions being presented.
my english is good but not perfect thats why and wym lift the tab
im making sure you arent just pushing the ribbon in without lifting the tabs first
the tabs?
maybe take a video of you putting the ribbon in and trying to turn it on
ok bro i have nitro but i cant send a video💀💀💀💀
make sure you pull these tabs UP before putting the ribbon in. then push them DOWN when the ribbon is back in
sorry, the image is still sending
hmm
im really confused like how im gonna oen
maybe watch a video on someone doing a shell swap
are you pulling the ribbon straight out? and forcing it back in every time? cause thats how you damage it
yeah now i know how to open the latches and i tried it again but still no imgage
you closed the tabs too right?
everything looked fine a minute ago. and you said it worked before you took it apart?
it worked with the old case
the type of shell is not relevant, it should still work if you did everything correctly
so idk do you think its still my display or sometjing?
does the speaker play a sound when you power it on?
not even trhat
try a different set of batteries
i tried
with the display flex removed and the latches open can you look into the connector to see if there is any damage
you never answered this question
yeah i didnt see the latches before, maybe
try your best in good light to take a picture inside the white connector with the brown latches open (up)
we can assist to tell you if the connector is broken
have you had it turned on the whole time? it should not be even warm
idk maybe because the display doesnt show uop
can i send it to anyone or sell it i think its broken
there might be something else going on that we have to diagnose, because that's concerning
we can still help you. someone else who knows more than me might be able to take a closer look at your motherboard to see if anything else is wrong
if youve been here for 30days you can make a #1049401311101206649 post with a
tag asking for someone to fix your console

remember to post your country and state/province if relevant
the hot CPU is not a good sign, im looking for an electrical short from damage and the image you provided is not good enough to determine damage
i think nobody wants to fix my gba im poor and jobless and paid for a new case for nothing damn
we are trying to help
do not turn it on then
the hot CPU is not a good sign
the image you provided is not good enough to determine damage
can you try again
looking down into the connector
the image you posted is diagonal at the connector
perfect angle, but out of focus
try to pull back a little so you can get the camera to focus
then zoom in digitally
these last two photos are off angle
there are gold fingers inside there
they are all very delicate and can get bent or twisted
