Please remember to provide as much information as possible including all troubleshooting steps you have already taken. If this is a hardware issue, please provide clear in-focus images of the issue, PCB (circuit board), installation, and any soldering you have done. Help us help you, posts with insufficient information will be deleted
Because this post has the "Game Boy Advance" tag, we recommend checking out this wiki page https://gbwiki.org/en/consoles/advance
pictures, buddy. no one can help you without pictures
I noticed these capacitors were a bit absent too
Hopefully there is enough there to go off 🙂
IIRC, C40 is required for the AGB to turn on. Other thing you can check is F1 with a multimeter in continuity mode.
@cunning fjord Do you know where I can get C40s from?

Has a link to the spreadsheet of replacement capacitors. Also has some information on the same caps that got torn off.
C40 is just a "CAP CER 0.1UF 16V Y5V 0402". You can buy them off of digikey/mouser. Also, if this your first time soldering something so small, recommendation is to get a solder practice kit.
@cunning fjord you are my hero
It was my first time soldering today in 15 years
So I think I will, I bought 10 of each incase I mess it up
@Hi @cunning fjord , I’ve soldered both of the capacitors on and it’s still the same as before😢
I appreciate it’s not the prettiest
Unfortunately, soldering is a skill where looks do matter. Those joints probably aren’t connecting the caps to their respective pads. I would add some flux and try reflowing those with a k tip or d tip.
ok, thanks @radiant raft, I will try that 🙂
I got it to kind of power up, it’s turning on with sound but the screen stays black
Did you test the IPS kit before installation? Check the ribbon cables to ensure they're oriented correctly and seated securely? You can also try testing the OEM screen to see if it displays?
No I didn't as the order came in 2 parts from aliexpress and the OEM turns on
And everything appears to be seated and oriented properly 🙂
if you didnt test the screen prior to installing, theres no way to be sure it did or didnt work before the install. so it could have come broken, or something you did during the install broke it. or its still not seated correctly.
This is true, I have asked for a replacement to be sent by Aliexpress
just so you are aware, they will most likely say no because you didnt test it prior to install. every screen ive bought requires you to test it otherwise they cannot refund you because they can't be sure if you broke it or not
