no that shouldn't happen, and are you using an original power cable or a 3rd party? got any pics of the charging port?
Third party
This is the one I got and yeah I’ll take a picture soon
It seems to work, I just have to set it right or it won’t charge. Ig that’s the price of getting a cheap charger, it says it has a ic chip to prevent overcharging so ig it’s not too bad
its likely just a dirty charge port
and charge control is done by the console itself.
Planning on getting qtips and 91% ipa alcohol, would that be good to clean the ports
Oh okay, on the thing it said it had a chip to prevent it so idk
i use a pipe cleaner since q-tips dont really fit unless you squish them
Oh okay, planning on getting acid brushes too to clean the motherboard and stuff
Just waiting on the Mario shell and screwdrivers
somthing like this is what i use https://www.gordonbrush.com/brushes/metal-free-tube-brushes
but i feel like metal might be okay if you removed the battery
Could I maybe use a soft tooth brush for the ports with ipa?
And also the motherboard. I want to clean it all, idk if I should keep it or sell it after I’m done
wouldn't hurt to try it, i use them on the motherboards all the time just be careful
the best brushes would be "static free"
Oh okay, I really want to get the ribbon cable fixed but I might just leave it
its a good candidate for a screen upgrade, if you want to keep it original I know there's a ton of us who have OEM screens you could wait until you can make a post on the marketplace and ask for one there
A bit tight on money right now so I’ll probably hold off on a screen replacement unless the problem gets worse, audio is good and everything else seems good. Just gonna have to bear with it when it’s fully extended, thanks for the help and everything
Here’s how the port looks
Yeah looks kinda corroded, see how it works after cleaning
Oh okay, should be getting the qtips and stuff sometime soon. So ipa alcohol definitely won’t mess with the ports or anything? Is there a specific amount or just don’t overdo it
apply to the qtip just enough to have a lightly damp
Alright, thanks
