#GBC turns off randomly

Friend says her GBC turns off randomly while playing but I haven't been able to replicate that issue, I tried a pair of AA Laddas and then a used pair of regular alkaline Energizers for about an hour each (playing on an EZFlash Jr) and nothing. Screen hasn't blank or gone black, no reboot loop, etc. At first I thought the issue were simply her batteries but upon opening the system I see a lot of weird in here.

I have a multimeter but I'm new and don't really know my way around with it. I attached some pictures, I see that maybe I should change her battery terminals, one of the capacitors is different not sure if that should be changed, will check the power switch although I assume whoever build this, cleaned it.

Is there anything else in here that could be causing the power issues?

There's 2 pins bridging in the volume wheel, you could try changing the volume to see if it works at all for starters

There's also a capacitor which has been replaced by an alternate part

Since there's nothing isolating the IPS screen board from the main board, components could be shorting or smth to that extent

if youre not able to replicate, dont go start replacing things. there is a troubleshooting guide for power in the wiki #998610706133954830 under the CGB page. you can go through that to see if you can narrow anything down.

everything else that looks weird is the previous builder making repairs. there is burnt flux leftover and it should be cleaned up. isopropyl and a qtip will make good work of it

the volume wheel and link port are not original. there are better aftermarket volume wheels for CGB now from cloud game store as well as link ports if you want to restore that to something more presentable

headphone jack issues are also in the wiki, but youll have to remove that jumper the previous owner put on it

Yes, she got in Jan 28 and just now, last Monday (27th) started turning off randomly

january is not too long ago. but i would have your friend demand some sort of repair from the original seller. they paid for a working console and this is an unsatisfactory modded console to me

there unfortunately are no replacement headphone jacks available for the color, but if you have the capability to desolder it, they are very cleanable once removed
