See image. Yes I'm aware of the short pin on the right side, the GBXcart RW seems to be making continuity with this pin when plugged in. It detects that it's pokemon emerald but says unstable/dirty. I reflowed just about the entire board. Anyone see anything I don't?

was it working before you removed the cell ?
No, planning on moving the ROM to a japanese sapphire/ruby board but figured I would give it a go to try and get this one working for giggles
that's a bit of a stretch but check these ?
1 looks a bit odd
2 and 3 just seem dirty but might be corroded ?
It's the angle of the photo, they are very clean. I have an ultrasonic cleaner
All are fine, 1 is just a trace that comes closer to the pad, 2 and 3 are clean now that it got an ultrasonic bath
I could go this route but I think I'm going to use a japanese ruby donor board that way I only have to swap the ROM chip and nothing else
It could be a corroded via on the back side or under the ROM/Flash chips
Also if you only rom swap a Japanese R/S to a USA Emerald, the save file might get a little funky
I'll likely just wipe the save file
Just an update in case anyone wants filled in, I swapped the ROM to a japanese Ruby and all is well, I also found the root cause of the old board not working...
@quaint blaze was correct
Nice work. Too bad it's so many corroded vias, if it was a couple that board could have been saved.
