I got a game boy light dc dc board that doesn’t work at all, I get 0v on vdd and screen doesn’t work either

I already tried reflowing everything and changing the inductor from a game boy pocket but still the same issue :/

What could be the culprit ? I plan to ips mod this game boy light anyway so could I use a game boy pocket dc dc board ?

is the fuse good? or at least are you getting battery voltage to VCC pin 1?

It’s something in the power regulator that died, everything visually looks very good, and like I said the inductor is working for sure since it was working in the game boy pocket

#

Console works with a external 5V power converter but it’s very noisy in the sound output

#

And obviously screen doesn’t work since it doesn’t get its -19v, but I don’t really care all that much since it’s getting an ips screen

#

If it’s compatible I could just drop a game boy pocket dc dc converter in and it should be okay ?

as something for yourself yes

but the next person that opens that up is gonna have a real bad time cause the DC-DC boards look so similar

If I ever sell it I’m going to mention that the dc dc board has been replaced with a gbp one ofc

But it’s going to be a unit that I’ll use for my game boy Camera, I don’t have a game boy light power switch for it anyway
