I've touched on this in other posts. The weight of your objects and the limit on weight for backpacks is killing the vibe of this game. You released your beta with a mule bug that makes it unworth playing since you've centered mules as the most important part of a game. Without them I can't bring out all of the kits such as cooking alchemy or crafting because the weight adds up. What room do I use to take back my treasure to sell? You lowered the base amount of the nomads backpack from 50 to 40. I'm not gonna say it's a terrible idea but it feels terrible to play.

On the nomad pack. The 50 to 40 is actually nearly the same as OW1 once you factor in the 3 slots for tent/lantern/craft station.
true but the 75 pack costing 1000 that is 10 times the amount of the Prospector Backpack from the 1st game and it was 75 but cost 100
and my favorite backpack Preservation Backpack is 75 as well but can only get that from a quest lol
then in 3 brothers they have Dusk Backpack 80 for 300 silver so i thnk the cost needs to come down
That may be true but we have more crafting kits and more crafting material in the tools like whetstones which weighs 5, as much as a crafting kit itself.
I'd personally love to try the rolly backpack and a mule. With the mule having my tents and kits anf my back pack for loot and traps
But rn the roll back pack is practically impossibly to use at so little carry and it definitely feels like its an absolute most to grind for the big backpack whether i personally want it for the playstyle i want or not
Im not say you don't have a valid point, I just wanted to show you that when comparing objectively, as of yet, the packs are equivalent volume wise once you factor in the gear slots.
Even the Pouch Pack is equal to the Adventurer Backpack with the 2 trinkets and gun slots.
True, but I think the issue is that a lot of the weight values for items are too high, like the iron sword being 8 weight and neffer tusks being around 4-8 weight. Maybe the exercise system and mules will make this just an early-game obstacle. For instance, pne of the exercise nodes gives +2 pocket space.
I would prefer this to ease up.
Revert Prospector to 1g, stays the same
+Trader's to stock @2.5g, +10% stamina penalty. Lantern/Bedroll. 95 cap.
+Melfino (or the like). @10g, 110 cap. Only lantern, maybe trinkets.
Look. I don't mind if they pull the backpack down as they have, if, and this is a big if, the mule works. I can't rely on it right now. I was out 500 gold for the pearlbird and with no way to know if it's gonna actually stick around for me theres no point in playing with it. They've managed the weight economy fine with the use of mules. But they are not properlly working in the beta and that has me worried.
Well when they do work you not only have to feed them, you will need to carry a post to tether them to so they don't wander off and they can be attacked. There is going to be a good chance people lose a few beast of burden in a play through.
I agree that there are too many items that weigh too much. It's something I've been looking into but I have not finished evaluating how to improve it all. But it's also true that you must consider the backpackslots into their carrying capacity.
Opulent backpack 85 WC and you just need to walk there, for free
I don't think that the utility items should weigh as much as they do. I don't know why the fishing spear is near as heavy as an iron sword, or why a pickaxe is heavier than an iron shield.
considering pickaxe actually weigh between 5-7lbs and I shield depending on type (not including siege shield) weigh between 1-12lbs I would say they are pretty accurate.
Would love to maybe see some unique backpacks that can help compliment this issue tbh.. like a miners backpack with a unique slot to put your pickaxe on and removing its weight, or like the pouch backpack thats clearly designed for guns in mind it would be cool if they reduced the weight of any ammo or guns in your backpack
Just minor things to compliment their purpose or "flavouring" if you will
the Prospectors Backpack is the miners backpack. Your lantern, bedroll/tent and a 2handed weapon (aka pickaxe) don't weigh anything when slotted into the gear slots. The problem is that when you use the bedroll it doesnt go back into the slot
when you disassemble it
