#Paying for mod compat
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I would assume it is a one time payment since it is quite darn expensive and if it was recurring it would be insane
ok, i was just curious how it was decided how much work a compat is given that it says 300+
i remembered it being around 200
It’s 300+
Rubys detailed pricing estimation
Full IP compat (ships going through portals) is going to take a LOT of hours
So probably uh… quite expensive to commission
It’s been discussed a few times internally, it would require massive changes to the physics engine (krunch), the intermediary layer (vs core), as well as public VS
making ships go through immersive portals properly is no small feat
They are not able to be split across dimensions with our current code
so we are probably talking a cost in the thousands then right?
Possibly
Like, I also want IP compat (along with some other devs)
But it requires a lottt of work
i thought so, guess ill shelve the idea for a bit then
This isn’t even taking into account portal paradoxes we would have to avoid
