nice
how were you able to replace the bearing's block?
it's not actually replaced, it just didn't render for some reason (probably a bug related to blade size) and i built over it after it assembled into a contraption
using copycats makes it easy because they highlight to the side to place
how to make long blades?
there is a config option for max blade size
you need to go to clockwork's config through the create config list and change it
and then just craft blades together
Oh they got that??
Gonna make some long ahh copters
what a max lenght?
i set it 16 and it wont woek
@fierce scroll hey does your chopper fly well?
it didn't fly great but it was usable
i used a copter bearing for lift only and used two props for yaw and pitch
did you find a way to stop it from spinning a lot
yaw coupled with roll a little bit
yes, i just didn't run the tail rotor constantly
i reversed it to turn one way and gave it forward thrust to turn the other way
me and my friend tried but we cant operate it that well
traditional tail rotors need the main rotor to be pitched sails/wings unfortunately
counter rotation is too much or too little
ah
if you send a pic i might be able to tell what's wrong
imagine its linked up properly
you were trying to do constant spin tail rotor mechanics?
not constant no
i don't see a clutch for your tail rotor here
it can hover, go up, go down, left right forward backward
trust me its got a clutch
its not always on
we're considering giving up on helicopters which we do kinda wanna use
if you have one yaw channel set to enable both the clutch and the gearshift and one yaw channel set to enable just the clutch it should work with that setup
nono, that works, but we have to make constant micro adjustments just to fly somewhat straight
ah yeah
mainly after turning )
that's probably because the props have a ramp up time so you're getting pilot induced oscillations
you can solve that by adding a few vertical wings on the back to act as a rudder so when you're moving forward you tend to face along your velocity vector
but don't add too many or you won't be able to fly backwards without flipping
we also tried that it only helped a teeny tiny bit
as a last resort you can also embed a separate craft that's just a motor and a gyro set to face sideways within your current craft and that will dampen yaw
