So in theory this could be practical but we need very fast chunkloading

patent parcel
#

so

#

with fast enough chunk loading

#

someone could make a lore accurate blackbird

hypersonic bombers and stuff

Is the big one running with active or passive fire?

like a 1x1 projectile maybe

#

just make sure magnets are powered and they face the same direction

#

and that the coilgun's magnets face inwards either - on the outside or + on the outside

#

works both ways you just need to have a projectile that faces the corresponding sides

#

and they may bug sometimes so you can always reload the world

astral rapids
dry sonnet
#

you'd probably have to time the stagger really well

#

but may be needed for longer cannons or bigger ones because too much magnets at the same time may break it, it seems

astral rapids
#

Yeah, same issue for my testing.
Thrusters usually solve the problem, I also have a couple of designs for active fire on my own world, the timing isn't too difficult.

dry sonnet
#

nice, maybe ill try to make some staggered ones too someday

astral rapids
#

Also, are you running it via attraction or repulsion?

dry sonnet
#

honestly i dunno the difference lol

#

this build is purely a result of trial and error i did go into this blind a little lol

#

i had to rebuild it like 5 times

astral rapids
#

Are you attracting the projectile by neg/pos or repelling it through neg/neg?

dry sonnet
#

all the magnets on the coilgun are facing facing positive to the inside
and negative to the outside
and the projectile is facing positive rear, and negative at the front

astral rapids
#

So it looks like you're running with an Attractive Coilgun.
I've heard from the person who does the coilguns for Anthem that repulsive are a bit better, the only downside being that you need to essentially force the projectile in there with some initial velocity to work properly.

dry sonnet
#

it's still pretty strong as a cannon

#

i made this one so it pulls in the projectile and locks it in place here

#

but perhaps you could use some other magnets to push it first and then use this repulsive one to accelerate it

#

unless the projectile wont react to attractive ones when it's made for repulsive

astral rapids
#

Maybe?
They should work fine, since you'd just need to use the opposite polarity.

#

ight

astral rapids
#

Btw, where's the tnt you used from?

dry sonnet
#

lotta very strong tnt's

#

inspired by the very old more tnt mod

np, and remember to not have too much magnets active at once that may also break them

crimson summit
#

thank you, I use repeters...

#

when I use worldedit to stack magnets, it just breaks them. Is there any solution to stack magnets quickly?

glad i helped

astral rapids
#

Honestly a good choice. I used SRIs for one of mine, and that caused me significant pain, lol.

dry sonnet
#

oof

#

it's basically this on the inside

#

sry for terrible quality

astral rapids
#

That is infinitely more efficient than what I did, lol.

crimson summit
#

uh what do cog blocks do?

astral rapids
astral rapids
crimson summit
#

of create?

astral rapids
crimson summit
#

of create mod

astral rapids
#

Yeah, are you asking if the SRIs or the Cog Blocks are similar?

crimson summit
#

no, if they are more efficient than create redstone link

astral rapids
#

I’d say yeah. The only downside is that you can’t use Linked Controllers with them, and if you’re running multiplayer, then other people won’t be able to use the ones you placed.

crimson summit
#

and why cog blocks with worldedit?

crimson summit
astral rapids
crimson summit
# astral rapids Buggy?

yeah, when i use a linked controller, go far away of the redstone links and go back they are bugged. The redstone links are broken and i have to replace all the redstone links to relink my controller

astral rapids
#

I haven’t seen that issue with SRIs, though tbf, I haven’t had that issue with Links either.

crimson summit
#

ah…

#

why my mods are always broken and glitchy?

#

or it’s my cursed minecraft

crimson summit
dry sonnet
#

i'd say cogs are great cuz they don't struggle with vertical conduction

#

and they output/input redstone to all sides

#

and that they are solid they are somewhat more reliable to worldedit
