HMS Fiji built on my world at 1:1 scale.
All 4 main guns have an assembly that goes deep into the ship full of shells and powder bags. The
Powered by 8 big steam engines (designed to look like the 4 admiralty 3 drum expansion boilers).
Has a spot for a floatplane but I have no idea if you could launch an aircraft from it. 4 propellers driven by 4 "engines" get this thing up to a noticeable but still slow speed.
Has 4 secondary gun mounts and a handful of AA gun mounts. Interior is maybe 20% done.
Mostly good at obliterating pillager outposts and crashing lesser pc clients.
Unsurprisingly, extremely unstable and prone to crashing the server.

It serves as the extremely big brother to this, the Steam Gunboat, which gets a lot more use as a coastal defense ship from pirate raids on the colony.

Without the ship helm these ships tend to roll over

Apologies, I meant unstable as in it likes to crash my server

is this just like the optimal shape for a propeller or are you "one of those people"

# velvet oar How do you turn the turrets in the ship? Is there any tutorial?

Put a turret on a physics bearing / mechanical bearing (with an interact-me sticker)
rotational power into the bottom, through an inverted clutch and a gearshift.
Powering the clutch will rotate it one way, powering both turns it the other way.
For gun elevation, they're on cannon mounts that are all linked, and you just do the same thing but on the turret to elevate and depress guns
