P-119 is a light fighter aircraft. The flying wing design was chosen as a result of experiments with low-speed supermaneuverability, that is, the aircraft was made specifically to excel in gun dogfights. While it does perform well in turning it is also gets extremely unstable after very sharp turns and lacks directional stability under any conditions, this is also the reason why max angle of elevators was limited to 15 degrees. Absence of any vertical control surfaces, in contrary to plane's purpose, makes aiming harder. Aircraft remains as a testbed for FBW systems and mass production was stopped at least until aforementioned system are developed enough.
