I was just walking around in my test world, and suddenly the serverside of my game froze, the client side was fine, but the server froze (im in SP)
the log was spammed with
"Received physics frame update for ship with ShipId: 2818, but a ship with this ShipId does not exist!" (the ship id varies, it appears to be 4 random numbers)
it was so manny msgs infact, that my log straightup crashed. IDK how to fix this, as there arent even any ships in my world.

#

i would upload the latest.log

#

but the file is too big for discord

#

[11Oct2024 22:09:09.848] [Server thread/WARN] [org.valkyrienskies.core.impl.shadow.Ak/]: Received physics frame update for ship with ShipId: 2569, but a ship with this ShipId does not exist!

#

this is the ful line that was spammed, just incase its important

visual bramble
#

i closed the game after the server stopped responding

agile yew
#

cool

#

still wrong

#

anyways

visual bramble
#

then what is it

agile yew
#

repeat the crash

#

post latest.log

visual bramble
#

u even read

agile yew
#

latest.log is created at the start of each mc instance

#

a new one

#

so recreate the crash

#

so that the latest.log is not huge

visual bramble
#

so you want me to restart my game, and cause the crash again?
how will that change the outcome of the latest.log

#

the spam was pretty much instant

agile yew
#

you've said that that it's too big

#

so make the crash happen immediately

#

so that it's not big

visual bramble
#

ima try to close the game asap

#

but i cant guarantee it

#

alr

#

did what you told me

#

as soon as the server froze i closed the game

#

and now latest.log is 111 kb

#

compared to the 70kb before

#

holup

#

ima upload it throug 3rd party

#

tyg

#

thats the latest.log

agile yew
#

holy fuck

visual bramble
#

?

#

what did i do wrong now

agile yew
#

no

#

just 110 mb

visual bramble
#

yes

agile yew
#

💀

#

do you have important ships in there?

visual bramble
#

why do you think it nuked my life log viewer

agile yew
#

if not you can /vs delete @v

#

if yes then you're fucked

visual bramble
#

i did that already

agile yew
visual bramble
#

the crash log you have is already without ships

#

thats whats confusing me

agile yew
#

did you restart server

#

and clients

#

oh wait

#

single player

visual bramble
#

its SP

#

ye

agile yew
#

whole game restart?

visual bramble
#

and yes, i have restarted, like 4 times

agile yew
#

damn

visual bramble
#

yes

agile yew
#

well

#

you can try uuhhh

#

go to the world folder

#

data/vs_ship_data.dat

visual bramble
#

i think there might be a corrupt chunk, as it doesnt crash immediently, it takes like 20 secs

agile yew
#

remove it

visual bramble
#

youre not gona see this one coming

#

this is all thats in the data folder

#

idk why there is a fabric file there, im on forge

#

lemme just delete that

agile yew
#

no

#

not profile

#

the world folder

visual bramble
#

aha

agile yew
#

minecraft/saves/name/etc

visual bramble
#

yeye

#

lemme restart

#

and see if it works now

#

still happened

#

how does it even receive physics frames from non existing ships

#

like wtf went wrong here

agile yew
#

well

#

you're fucked

visual bramble
#

yup

visual bramble
#

do we atleast know what causes it?

#

so i can avoid said bug in the future

severe bough
#

Uhhh create interactive… maybe?

#

It’s known to currently do this kind of buggy weirdness with glitched out ships etc

#

Also

#

A potential fix would be to load the world without VS active (e.g. not in your mods folder). Since you already deleted all ships anyway, getting rid of all vs stuff from that world shouldn’t affect you too much (when you load a world with a missing mod it basically just does it’s best to delete everything from that missing mod)

visual bramble
#

i dont have interactive

#

is there like a place to report bugs?

severe bough
#

I mean yes, the VS GitHub, but since I don’t think this is very re-producible and can often be mod-conflict related, it’s probably not worth reporting it. (And existence of these “empty ships” is known, it’s just really hard to track down what causes them from what I remember)

#

Oh and did you have interactive at any point in the past?

visual bramble
#

only clockwork
