three is a new helicopter i am trying to make based off on the s-97 raider using computer craft to control the flaps depending on the data they get (fully intended for a survival possible build), and so far it works fine, except there is one problem, after saving it and assembling it again, it works fine, but when i save the game and exit the world and then reloading it again, it's steering become a bit weird, like when i try to move it forward while its rotor rotation speed is 226 it rolls left, but when its at 256 it pitches forward and roll left as shown in the command inputs of the remote controller i made, almost as if it the overall steering rotates clockwise the more speed the physics bearing has and counter-clockwise the less it has , seems the steering circle gets changed depending on the rotational speed of their respective physics bearing, am i missing something or is it a physics bearing bug as i have tried removing and re-adding the flap bearing and flaps, as well as the computers, but nothing fixes it other than reassembling it again, any idea why this happens, and if there is a fix or workaround for this?
#is it me or does clockwork/valkyrien skies has an issue when saving and then reloading the game?

And you are definitely on 1.18, yes?
Because this kind of thing is usually a more 1.20 issue
yes, to be specifix it's on 1.18.2
indeed, everything is up to date in a freshly generated world at that
Do you have like numerical proof that stuff is different? Just trying to be able to figure out how we can accurately reproduce this bug and how to test for it
(I should disclaimer here that I am not a clockwork dev and couldn’t fix this even if I tried/wanted to, I’m just trying to help them out for if they ever try to fix this)
i can reproduce it by copying it with the vmod toolgun to save the bugged one and when i load it again it unbuggs and wworks perfectly until i save and reload again
i can see that, but any help would be appreciated anyway
Can you, in the same world, have a bugged copy and a unbugged copy at the same time?
if can copy the bugged one and then load it at the same world unbugged this time in a single go without saving then logically speaking, yes
so you want me to have them both used at the same time to see the difference?
Yeah
I want to know if the cutting and pasting is fixing it, or just the pasting
Oh and then, maybe get the block data of the bugged and unbugged flaps? Probably won’t be different but you never know
it may lag though, my pc cant handle much even while recording
You don’t necessarily have record it, just see if it works
i dont think its the flaps, i think its the ship that bugs that is attached to the bearing
Oh right
alright i will see to it
Interesting
So you think the bearing is different on a reload?
Like stiffer or something?
Hm
something like that, maybe its code gets messed up or it is was like that, and the other mods dont matter that much
I notice the bearing ship has quite a few blocks, maybe upping the LOD would help? Maybe on a reload it’s getting stuck?
because i tried breaking and then rebuilding the flaps even with glue
even resseting the glue
and the flap bearings
still no change
what's a LOD?
is that the amount of blocks it can have?
Let me send it hang on
It’s the amount of mini hit boxes that make up the blocks hitbox
So if you have lots of blocks, the hitbox tends to get a bit blurry at lower LOD
(Blurry being not quite perfect)
so the hitbox extends the more block you add?
i noticed the same thing with an airplane i tried to make one
once
the more block i added to the bottom the more it started to float in the air magically
Yeah exactly
maybe it is associated to that
(Technically the mini hit boxes are a bunch of circles, which is why when you don’t have enough it gets not perfect)
But yeah so maybe double LOD and try again
changing setting? wouldnt it work if i just extended the rotors a bit further? like for example 4 or 5 blocks higher?
Oh I guess
But changing the setting is a more concrete test anyway
And it shouldn’t like hurt your game or anything
Except maybe a little bit more lag
its the json file right?
nope, still nothing, i guess i'll just wait until the developers update it and hopefully fix this if possible
Oh, that’s annoying
