(Not really a mod request but no-one looks at this channel anymore anyway soo)

When I help people in #1019674227579813910 I end up typing the same stuff over and over. I feel like the Valkyrien Golem can help.

  1. The bot could send a message in reply to every post, saying "Have you read the faq?" right at the top, incase somehow people have missed the post (which they do seem to do somehow??)
  2. A "binary search" command that explains how to do it, and how it might help
  3. A command for an explanation of std:system_error and how to fix it (the github issue), explain that customer support or another server host is probably needed
  4. A command for listing all the dependencies needed by VS and its addons

Any other ideas for the bot people can put in the replies I guess:

Binary search command:

A binary search can be used to find an incompatibility between VS and your modpack. How it works:

  1. Disable half your mods, except VS its addons and dependencies
  2. Test to see if the problem persists
  3. If the problem is gone, you know the conflict was in the disabled half. If not, its still in your current half
  4. Go back to step 1, except with only the half that has the incompatibility, and half the half

Continue until the problem goes away. You then should know what mod was the issue

If new problems arise while testing, its possible you've disabled a mods dependency but not the mod itself. You should try to disable dependency mods last (e.g. citadel, framework, etc.)

I guess you can try to keep up with incompatibilitys written into the mod like "mod xyz version 123 incompatible" but thats a lot of work and minor updates
