Belgian general purpose machine gun (the name in French is Mitrailleuse d'Appui Général, literally "General Purpose Machine Gun") manufactured by FN Herstal. Used by many countries, particularly the United States under the designation M240.

Shown here with a 50 round pouch; more stationary applications feed the machine gun from a larger ammunition canister.
