-Dock
If two physical objects have redstone and rotational force powered dock and get close to each other they connect like Portable Storage Interface. Also work if one of the docks are on the ground. If one dock lose rotational force or redstone the connection is interrupted. Bigger speed of rotational force makes docking faster. Bigger SU can hold connected bigger and heavier objects.

-Proximity Detector
Sensor that give redstone signal if gets close (maximal distance giving redstone can be set) to the ground or other physical object. Needs rotational force.

-20mm canons and machine guns
Automatic Canons more in scale to plane than these from Create: Big Canons.

cannons and guns are definitely outside of the clockwork scope

#

tournament has something like proximity detector (i think)

#

and you can use stickers for docking clueless (a way to transfer stuff between ships is planned)

Really? I didn't know that. Thanks.

While clockwork probably won't be getting conventional cannons, we still getting non-conventional weapon(s?) like the solver.
Also, wouldn't it be possible to build a proximity detector with ray cast block from your mod?
And stickers act like the asteroid anchors from ksp. I think blocks dedicated to docking would be cool as they could allow for proper ship splitting/merging.

#

Not just 2 ships stuck together

worldly valley
#

Raycaster can be a proximity sensor, but its cc only and kinda overkill for that

#

Ship splitting/merging will have the same problems of assembly/disassembly tho

Fair, but also unfortunate

I think the devs might be avoiding adding a proximity detector because aero is doing it and they don't want to step on aero

#

's toes

timber dust
#

Then why did potato add a propeller bearing? I understand what you're saying but I think there's a line between blatant copying and just having similar ideas.

hard flare
#

Well, in a mod that's about making aircraft, you can't not have propellers

timber dust
#

It's not just propellers though, there's the phys bearing vs freespin bearing, combustion engine vs stirling engine, ballooner vs levitite. Same idea, different execution.

#

Personally I'm arguing for this cause a proximity detector would make things easier for me

hard flare
#

It's not impossible they add it but it being in/planned for both aero and valkyrien computers might make them hesistant

#

I guess combustion and stirling are sort of similar in that they are both compact fuel based power sources, but ballooneer and levitite are quite different. Levitie helps things stay at the same altitude, while balloooneer is for going up and down.

#

I mean Aero seems to have its own hot air balloons so I don't know why you didn't just use that

timber dust
#

They have similar purposes, and I thought levitite would be like the endgame lift for aero while a good ballooner setup is the endgame for clockwork?

hard flare
#

According to the aero wiki levitite provides lift but resists both up and down motion

timber dust
#

Ah okay

craggy steeple
#

levite is nothing like ballooner

#

aero has a balloon type block but its nothing like levite

#

levite is an entirely unique concept with no irl relation

#

it causes vertical friction which prevents movement on the y axis

timber dust
#

Alr I admit my comparison was bad

craggy steeple
#

its not floating its just resisting gravity

timber dust
#

But I'm just saying that similar idea =/= copying
