It cant change moving directions like in real, because its impossible in mod now, so i tried to do it by moving gravity center... its not working well XD

#

you should put center of gravity behind rot, no?

vapid lily
#

well, i did a lot configurations and maybe it will be working, but it wasn't working when i had that, so idk

#

every time it was going backward

#

yeah i considered using center of gravity to pitch my apache but you have so little control

#

and it's slow and clunky

#

real helicopters use thrust vectoring which we just can't replicate

#

sucks

vapid lily
#

exactly

elder vessel
#

use flaps for the back rotor

#

flap bearings to change their pitch

#

then phys bearing to make it always spin

#

center of gravity isn’t the heaviest point

#

it’s the point about which the object rotates or something along those lines

#

actually i may be wrong about that, my memory is a bit foggy

#

wait no i remember now, i’m pretty sure i’m right

#

an object rotates around the center of mass/gravity cause it’s the path of least resistance

#

rather than that point weighing the front of the helicopter down and the heli rotating forward

#

lil bit counterintuitive but physics is all about switching the way you view things until it’s clear

@fast meteor You got it mostly right, but imagine it this way, instead of forces they are ropes what you are pulling. It would rotate clockwise and not the other way around.

#

And center of mass is the point where we can pretend the gravity pulls from

#

baloons dont create lift on their own

jade sand
#

you used a physics bearing with wings

quasi vector
#

maybe the propeller is too high?

#

that might be making it unstable

also i will need to reduce pump speed because its now using nearly 8mb of fuel per tick and next problem is design- some parts are connecting to those whose shouldn't be connected, i will need in that situation some kind of barriers for cogs/gearboxes, so building it smaller is barely impossible
