Imagine your pc being cloud only and they block it because of an update

Nah, my computer will NEVER be 100% cloud-only. Cloud storage and gaming is good, but 100% cloud solution really sucks
if they refuse to sell you pc components, you're cooked
Well, second hand PC market is not going anywhere, and i will rather have older but non-cloud PC than newer 100% cloud PC
100%
And also to be realistic, PC components are not going to disappear from the market anytime soon. Like the some really massive events should happen to achieve this, the PC market is just way too big.
And also i didn’t meant that anything even slightly related to cloud is bad. It can be good when it is not taken to extreme level, for example cloud gaming can allow older PC to play new games. But 100% cloud-only PC is a really, really terrible idea.
And also i have a tablet with unlockable bootloader that can boot older OS. How are they going to enforce cloud-only software on it?
i'm just worried about a corporate powergrab of making all components way too overtpriced, and sliding subscription based systems on us instead
we're quite safe on parts standardization so far, but the drivers/software/chips part is what is a bit worrysome to me
Oh right, the subscription based strategies are so annoying.
But i hope that it won't become this extreme, like there will likely be a large backlash for the corporations if they just keep pushing prices upward
