Hey~ Nice to meet you everyone. I consider myself fluent in English, I did college and uni in the USA, but academic English is a tad different from the streets one hehe. So yeah, I can easily understand a professor talking about quantum mechanics but someone with a NY accent well...
Also, I'm shy and having a Hispanic accent doesn't really help so I never had someone to practice with. I've picked up a tiny amount of Spanish from watching Spanish-language cartoons on the Nick Jr. Latino Pluto stream, but the accent and pronunciation are VERY different from what I remember being taught in school. I am planning to go back in a couple of months and I really want to improve in Spanish, not only speaking it but understanding what is being said. Since in the areas we were- all of the locals spoke Spanish - The best way I can learn is through experience and interaction, If there is anyone who is able to help me as a beginner I would really appreciate it.
