Hi! I'm Lisa. I'm from Denmark and I'm fluent in English. Currently on my 5th semester studying Spanish and psychology. That being said, I can understand a fair amount of Spanish and guess most of what I can't, but my vocabulary mainly extends to my subjects, so I don't know the smaller things like the word for a hoover.

I'd love to learn more in-depth grammar like subjuntivo and conditional. I understand it, but I'm not good at recognising when to use it and the forms. That being said, I don't want lessons, I want friendships and conversations.

I'll answer when messaged but I don't have a lot of time or energy at the moment, though I'll try to be around.

Entiendo una gran parte del español, pero mi vocabulario falta cosas como nombres de cosas en la casa como un lavaplatos, ya que tengo más experiencia con el vocabulario de mis asignaturas en la uni (y recordar las palabras es más difícil que entenderlas).

Quisiera aprender y usar la gramática con más fluidéz, como el subjuntivo y conditional. Entiendo cuando lo leo pero no estoy seguro de cuándo necesito usarlos y cómo conjugarlos. Pero no quiero lecciones ni un maestro sino amistades y conversaciones.

Responderé si me envias un mensaje pero no tengo mucho tiempo ni energía por el momento, aunque intentaré estar aquí.

Hi, I go by Shuya and I'm a 20 year old native English speaker. I was born and raised in the US🇺🇸, and I want to learn Spanish to speak to my 64 year old father and my grandmother who is well in her 80s.

I was never taught Spanish growing up and my dad constantly regrets it since I had no other motivation to learn Spanish and I was never around my dad's side of the family often, plus a lot of them still lived in Bolivia, so I had never even met them until a couple years ago. It wasn't until the end of my trip that I promised my grandmother with tears in my eyes that I would learn Spanish so she should also promise to take care of herself and live a long life, but since then I had made no effort to keep my word.

The older I get the less I want to do anything with my life besides play games, and I can't find any other passions, but recently I had a gut feeling that if I don't start at least this now, I will seriously regret it soon, like a universal warning was sent to me.

Sorry if this introduction was long or maybe too personal. I just felt as I was writing that if I put my feelings into words, maybe it would help keep me accountable, so I wrote a lot. I know next to nothing about Spanish besides what subpar US public middle and high school curriculums teach you, so still next to nothing, but at least I am aware of some concepts even if I have the Spanish vocabulary of a toddler.
