Well, honestly, Portugese is very similar to Spanish, but they are lots of expressions and words that we will not understand at all, for example if you are a spanish speaker and you read a random text in portugese you will notice a lot of words that mean and are pronounced the same, just to give a few exacples like "Familia, Vez, Mesa, Etc, but obviously we arent going to be able to completely understand, but at least I can kind of understand or make a general idea of what I just read, but just as every language, it needs time and dedication, but if you already talk spanish, it is definitely way easier.
