- first you learn some most common words, nouns, verbs
- then you listen to some Disney songs from cartoons you know (eg Lion King)
- Then listen some more, learning every new word
- Harry potter audiobooks in Spanish, rinse and repeat 3
- good grammar book that contains 5% theory 0% pictures and 95% exercises
listening really helps get a sense of how sentences are formed
after a while you can form them yourself, purely from memories of what you've listened

Sobre la "o" con sonido de "u" no es siempre que esto occurre, creo que en portugal todas las "o"s que tiene el sonido de "ó" (en portugues el acento en las letras cambia el sonido) son transformadas en "u" y en pt br la mayoria creo qye es tambien, lo mismo acontece con la "e" que con el supuesto sonido "é" se torna una "i" casi siempre.

@serene plaza The US, imo, lacks a strong connection to European Spanish culture. Id argue that it has a stronger connection to the indigenous and national Mexican culture. Therefore, the language mutates more and is less concerned with rules. Over time, Mexicans are becoming more self aware of their roots. It doesn’t benefit Americans to speak textbook Spanish. Instead they should to learn from the textbook but speak the dialects.
