I went to an English-learning institute when I was like 7 or so - my grandma insisted on the idea because she had seen me translate GameFAQs printouts for PS1 games in a somewhat successfully manner (for my age at the time, at least lol)
The institute gave me a relatively solid foundation and when I finished my lessons there (I was around 14 at that point) I did a whole lot of self-learning
Except for required reading from school, all my reading was in English

Eh, not really. It was 10 years ago. My accent was heavily influenced by Spanish at the time, to the point where I walked up to someone on the street to ask for directions and they said "oh a Spanish speaker" and they began talking to me in Spanish
And I was like "how did they know???"

yeah, I'd say you're in a really good place learning-wise if you are constantly having false starts that could've been complete sentences but you wanted to be more precise with your meaning
Truth is, most teachers here don't really cover pronunciation
They'll try and make sure you don't mix up, like, 'three' and 'tree' but that's the extent of it for most teachers I've had
During my training as a teacher I learned about intonation, rhythm, tone, pitch, sounds, allophones, weakening, etc.
And that was a game changer

I've never had a native Spanish teacher, so as good as my teachers have been in teaching the language, I've been kind of lacking a genuine Spanish accent to learn from
And maybe they put less effort into their accent on purpose, so students could better understand them

With Spanish I've seen teachers be very mindful about their own accents. If you're not from Mexico or Spain (like me) then you don't want your students to learn an accent that isn't as "useful" (huge air quotes on that) as other, more popular accents

Something else to keep in mind is that, for example, if you watch a lot of American or British shows you're going to develop an accent that will somewhat resemble a real accent. While dubbed shows in Latin America sound sorta "neutral" so you'd see parents nag their kids about learning the "wrong" type of Spanish.

Oh yeah. A lot of what makes an accent goes beyond just the sounds. Like for example Spanish doesn't weaken vowels like English, nor do we have a "long" vs "short" vowel dichotomy.

Pues solamente tener cuidado de no meterse en zonas muy peligrosas. Las zonas más famosas para los turistas en Lima y cusco son de bajo riesgo pero cuando estén en Lima no vayan muy lejos de la costa. Otra cosa es que visiten Lima, los museos monumentos históricos etc. Si tienen la oportunidad y pueden hacerlo definitvamente deberían visitar otras ciudades
Respecto al covid pues ahora si están vacunados y llevan mascarilla puesta están seguros
