Chapter 6: Ending
Before you can leave the photo booth, the old man from Greenich Mountain walks in looking much healthier than before. You can’t hide the surprise in your eyes as his frail old body transforms into, for lack of better word, a chonky one. And in a puff of white smoke appears none other than Santa himself. And ol’ jolly Saint Nick was NOT looking very jolly today.
“I’m very disappointed in you,” he said sternly. “The Starlight Festival is about compassion and sharing joy. Sure, the Greench was trying to ruin it for everyone else, but you knew you could stop him without antagonizing him. And you may have saved the Festival, but to me, you’re just a bully.”
You’re taken aback. You just saved the festival for your dinky town and all its helpless inhabitants, and yet, you’re the villain? How preposterous!
“I’m sorry, but I can’t condone your actions. I wanted you to take my place, but it appears I had misjudged you. Goodbye.”
With those parting words Santa flies off on his sleigh, leaving you behind with hate and resentment. Now feeling outcast, you make your way to the Greench’s house, now empty and lifeless. Looking through his computer that he left behind, you find enough schemes to last decades -- all with one goal, to steal Starlight.
Cursing this wretched holiday, you take a seat on the Greench’s throne, the only piece of furniture remaining (because what good will a throne do anyone?); you will continue his work, and more importantly, you will succeed. Santa will rue this day.
