Do you mean it changed between 2.1 and Winter Fest Patch?
And could you go into more detail as to what exactly no longer works?
Copying, cutting and pasting anything onto vehicles. The entities do not move with the vehicles after they have been pasted on. Even with object snapping enabled.
Was that the case even before the Winter Fest patch or has that changed since then?
I'm pretty sure it happened after the winter fest patch. I used to be able to cut and paste things onto vehicles and they would move with the vehicle. To be honest though, I haven't really tried it a few weeks so if someone else says it happened before the patch I'd be curious as to know when.
Disregard all this. Mello just demonstrated it working on his end. It may have just been a glitch on my end. Although I do know for sure it doesn't work on small boats now. But you all had mentioned once before they weren't actually supposed to be built on and it was a happy accident that people could do it at all.
it never worked on small boats for me
@slow anvil Meaning that Mello demonstrated a way to copy/cut and paste a weld or a group onto a ship or car in a way that made them part of the vehicle?
It should be possible to copypaste only ungrouped/unwelded entities on ships and cars. If you manage to force a grouped/welded entity onto a vehicle, it might lead to other issues down the line and possibly corrupt your composition or scenario.
Could you clarify this and provide some steps to reproduce the situation if there are any?
Mello did the exact same thing I did, using ctrl x and ctrl v. The only difference was he started with a ship instead of starting with a small boat. I started using a small boat and it wasn't pasting it to the vehicle like it used to, so I decided to try a ship and it also wasn't working. But it works now. So it was a glitch on my end.
Maybe some other program was interfering at the time
I never leave groups or welds on ships. I always break them before I save any compositions
