#Creating from reference (blender)

and also rigging tips since my rigs keep bending random stuff for no reason https://gyazo.com/37614fd90c2311484572edaf96d2ef69.mp4
I tend to import static images to get the outline of the model, shaders are also references from the image but I add my own creativity to them, and the reason you're having weird bends is probably because of your bones are being linked to things they shouldn't
Thanks, I don't know how to unlink a bone from other parts it seems to happen automatically unless I make 2 different armatures.
Yeah, armatures can be annoying to use
But the bones don't need to be physically connected, you can just set another bone to a given bones parent
Any idea on why the bones literally fold the toaster looking part of the knees? (For a robot this shouldn't happen and I don't know how to stop it) https://i.gyazo.com/12d26e5c3a957cfab952e8ecde1b8f7a.mp4
Oh it does that because of how it's rotating
It's bending the toaster part because when it rotates, that's what it thinks it's supposed to do
Like, it works on humans, but not on robots that have to be rather stiff
I'm tempted to say inverse kinematics could help with the problem, but I'm not sure tbh
what does IK have to do here?
doesn't it just rotate the bones in a way where the joints are moved using some math?
I doubt it'll fix the bending
but ok
