Hello guys, so Im new to luckperms and I’ve got a question. So basically I want my staff on my server to be able to run a command and get the staff permissions, though when they aren’t in the staff mode they don’t have the permissions anymore. The staff plug-in Im using is already all sorted out. So for example if a moderator does /staff he has access to the staff permissions and all that, then when he goes out of / staff he returns to a default player. And doesn’t have those staff permissions anymore. Is there a possible way I could do this with LuckPerms. My apologies if My text is confusing. Im new to all this.

One thing to add. I don’t want them having luckperm permissions. So the /staff would have to take them in and out of the staff permissions group. If that makes sense.

Hi Im a new server owner and Im having problems with luck perms not showing messgaes. The messages just show as blank when I know they should display text. I was wondering if anyone could help me with what I should do? examples of commands are /lp listgroups and it comes up with some 0's and blank text. I have tried reinstalling lp and searching throught he internet but nothing has worked.

LuckPerms does not perform any chat/tablist formatting of its own!

LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

I think there is also a setting in essentials config needed.
Don't know what it is called, but something with display name.
Should be set to false by default. It has to set to true.

Hello, I have two small problems that are blocking me. I set the "luckperms. *" Permission to a role called "admin" which I then assigned to myself. But when I type you /lpb, it tells me that I don't have the permissions, but when I type /lp you, I have all the permissions.

my bungee network had different permissions set for different server (had.... since made everything together into a single perm, so its easy to manage)

example
Server 1 = set 1 of perms nodes
Server 2 = set 2 of perms nodes

the only thing common between them are the ranks (names)

is it possible to have individual set of perm nodes for each server and only promoting will be done network wide
i.e if i promote a player to rank 2
he promotes to rank 2 in all servers but the perms are different per server

There is an option in your server properties which needs to be changed to true.
The gamrule you have been talking about is just for its output. If it is set to false, the command block just don't give any chat output after executing commands.

Unfortunately nucleus-invulnerable doesn't have a "false" state (players who are invulnerable get the context=true, but players who aren't don't have the context at all)

I was wondering if there's a way to dynamically change a permission using LuckPerms / any other method one may know of.

My situation:

/luckperms user Aiboh permission set cosmicvaults.amount.5
(This command allows me to have 5 personal vaults.)

If I want to have one additional vault, obviously 5 + 1 = 6, so I change 5 to 6.

However, what if I want to add 1 PV to LittleTimmy123 and I don't know how many PVs they have? I could search their permission, find out they have cosmicvaults.amount.8, and change it to 9.

Is there a way to automate this and basically do the equivalent of cosmicvaults.amount.X -> cosmicvaults.amount.(X+1)?

Finally found out that the issue is with the specific mod that's checking for the permission, not with Luckperms or Nucleus - the permission check command shows the expected permission value depending on the contexts

it was <player> in the command and I had to change the weight for the default to 10 and the squire rank to 15.

Just give everyone default role

#

And make sure the role you want to show is higher in weight.

Default will give them all the default perms and the rank with the higher weight will give them additional perms + appearance.

LuckPerms does not perform any chat/tablist formatting of its own!

LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

I would like to ask a question related to assigning groups efficiently (working with EssentialsX, Worldborder and DiscordSRV)

I'm currently configuring an automated whitelisting system which requires players to be on a discord channel (works fine manually).
I want to be able to automatically assign a group to new players which prevents them from leaving the spawn zone (created using WorldGuard) until they link with DiscordSRV (also working perfectly).
I'm just having a little trouble find out if this is even possible; I don't particularly want all verified players to be assigned a secondary role on top of the global defaults, I want them to be blacklisted instead.

I'm not sure, The process is to use the "/discord join" command to receive a code, after which they can DM the bot after which it will store their linked MC and Discord accounts. It works pretty well from a moderation point of view, but atm the bot kicks them from the game until they are linked. I'd rather they didn't have to get kicked and then get back in

eventually fixed it, two things were wrong it seems:

LP doesnt support / in group names (makes sense)
I had to remove automaticinventory.sortinventory: false in the default group and make it default: op in my plugin.yml

@dusky belfry slashes in group names are not disallowed actually (literally any name that does not contain a space is allowed lol), thing is the group name loaded in memory is actually taken from the file name, not the name field in the file

added this context and the servers as saying you do not have access to this command... before adding context, it was working
server names are correct

you ran /reload (and /reload confirm ofc), many plugins are not designed to deal with that and many will break, most will do silently without you noticing

LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

when someone logs out and logs back in, their prefixes/suffixes are gone on the tab. if i re-add/set my parents then other people's also comes back to normal on tablist
