but you can run /lp log notify off to stop them to showing to yourself, or set log-notify to false in LP config so it just doesn't show to everyone (except console), but I mean anyone who has perms can turn it on to themselves anyway

There is a few alias cmds that do alot of lp cmds that get logged, and they used pretty commonly so it gets annoying for the log spam

But we dont want to disable logs completely

Didn't work. One of my other permissions in a group that effectively has it listed as:

    value: false

Does work... I realized I only was utilizing 2 spaces, but still nothing. I'ma try rearranging them around one more time, but unless there is a way I overlooked in the wiki itself to assign a weight to a permission, and not just a group... Then I'm stumped.

The way LuckPerms effectively works, as far as I'm aware, is basically it looks for all group.x permissions on the user themselves. Then it recursively goes through every group the user is a part of and makes a huge list of every group they inherit

#

Then, it orders that massive list of inherited groups by the weight of each group, putting the user's individual permissions as an imaginary group with an infinitely high weight

#

Then, it goes through each group in order of weight descending, checking for an exact match that denies the permission, an exact match that allows it, a * match that denies it, a * match that allows it, etc, until it finds the first match and then returns that value

It is safe to send an editor link in public.

Any changes made in the editor have to be applied using the /lp applyedits command - impossible unless the person with the link is also connected to the server and with the required in-game permissions to use LuckPerms commands. It's effectively just as safe to share an editor link as it would be to share a screenshot of your permissions or a pastebin of a configuration file. The editor doesn't contain any sensitive data (except perhaps player names).

I have both Server A and B connected to my MySQL Database and the group syncing works totally fine
But the player syncing doesn't work. Permissions I set for a player on Server A (with context global) aren't transferred to Server B

LuckPerms does not perform any chat/tablist formatting of its own!

LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

I have 3 servers, 1 bungee and 2 playable. I have always had luckperms on the 2 playable ones but just added luckperms bungee onto the bungee server because I need it for advancced ban. I am a little confused on exactly what I need to do to set this up properly.

a) grant the parent group for other worlds (for example if you want it to not apply in world=world_nether you will .. parent add <group> world=world world=world_the_end

b) set the permissions within the group to true globally (no context) and false for that world context, you can achieve this very easily within the web editor since you can select all nodes within a group and change the context in bulk (note the check boxes on the left of the permissions)

It is safe to send an editor link in public.

Any changes made in the editor have to be applied using the /lp applyedits command - impossible unless the person with the link is also connected to the server and with the required in-game permissions to use LuckPerms commands. It's effectively just as safe to share an editor link as it would be to share a screenshot of your permissions or a pastebin of a configuration file. The editor doesn't contain any sensitive data (except perhaps player names).

only if you make the prefixes one-letter

Pretty sure I did this before somehow. So how do you guys think I should do it? Regular players should see the Regular prefix, but for staff it should only show first letter 😄

Hi! Apologies as my question is rather big,

I am currently having a big server update, we will be basically restarting, and setting all player data to default. Previously I had, the default group be well "default". Firstly I would like to change the default group to beginner. & I would like to reset all players to this group. How do I make it so Luckperms recognizes all these people as new? There is one issue too, I want people that had certain ranks to get a different one. For example if they had the group Venus, they get Level 4 on the new server.

the name 'default' as a group name is hardcoded, but you can just give the default group a displayname and a prefix of "Beginner" as you like. As for totally resetting all user data entirely, you just run lp bulkupdate users delete in console

you absolutely can, and I'd probably recommend that instead of wiping everyone. You can also use bulkupdate to replace group.venus with group.level4 which will help with the upgrade
