LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

LuckPerms does not perform any chat/tablist formatting of its own!

LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

Would someone be able to clarify something for me in regards to how luckperms works. I've read the "installation" and "usage" pages several times but things don't seem to be lining up.

If you also want to use LuckPerms to apply permissions on your BungeeCord proxy, you should place LuckPerms-Bungee.jar into your BungeeCord plugins folder.
If you choose to only install LuckPerms on your BungeeCord proxy, it will have no impact on any permission checks performed by plugins on any backend Bukkit/Sponge servers. If you want that functionality, you need to install LuckPerms on those servers too.```

Reading this, I would assume that I need the bungee perms on the bungee, and each connected spigot ( or paper ) server would need the "luckperms" (not the "bungee" version of the plugin) in it's respective plugins folder, right ?

It is safe to send an editor link in public.

Any changes made in the editor have to be applied using the /lp applyedits command - impossible unless the person with the link is also connected to the server and with the required in-game permissions to use LuckPerms commands. It's effectively just as safe to share an editor link as it would be to share a screenshot of your permissions or a pastebin of a configuration file. The editor doesn't contain any sensitive data (except perhaps player names).

You are using offline-mode UUID. So there are two instances of your user with two different uuids.

MariaDB is a fork of MySQL which just has a lot of improvements. But plain MySQL is still just as good to use.

so my mate is tryna setup a mc server (using lp obviously) and his luckperms whilst installed onto the server isnt working - by this I mean that when a command is run nothing happens (in game or in the console) and he apparently cant seem to find any error messages

server is 1.12.2 spigot

currently re-installing a bunch of crap in hopes that he just screwed with his plugins in some weird way but thought id check here for him as well

i have a feeling that the plugin isn't uploading fully in the plugin folder (he just said that it gets stuck in the upload and then says it failed but when he refreshes it is sitting there)

(it's sitting in the plugin file list as 1.1mb but when we are uploading it, it lists it as 1.4mb)
