Heya! I’ve got a bit of a weird issue. Was hoping LuckPerms could help me figure something out and get it functional.
I’ve got a Minecraft minigame server I play with friends occasionally, the server has many silly chaotic items all done with the vanilla NBT tag stuff. And while this works for the most part, I’ve got an issue with spawn eggs. Specifically, I’ve got items that spawn falling blocks from spawn eggs. These are all Monster Spawners falling blocks. While Opped players (just myself) can use these just fine, non-opped players (aka literally everyone else) can’t use them, and all just turn into sand when used instead of a monster spawner. Was wondering if there’s a way for LuckPerms to allow non-opped players to use these? I had a look around giving various permissions to the default group and testing them, so far no dice.
I can provide more info if needed! Any response and suggestions are greatly appreciated! 🙂

Had a try myself, couldn't find anything useful from it. I enabled /summon to non-opped players just fine, and it even lets me summon falling blocks that are monster spawners. But this still yields sand from spawn eggs even with /summon access. the Verbose thing doesn't track anything when I was using spawn eggs (I kinda expected anyways but tested it anyways). Wasn't sure how to check for spawn eggs with anything I tried 😅. It is possible I'm missing something but I don't think I am?

A chat plugin (usually) has no bearing on tab. The main part of that canned response that's relevant here is:
LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

Argument based permissions is exactly what you're looking for here. Enable them in your config and assign fine grained permissions to your staff, so that they can only promote/assign groups you want them to.

As the error states, a plugin attempted to lookup data in an unsafe way, and LP blocked it. Your options are either reporting it to the plugin author and getting them to fix it (the stacktrace should include the calling plugin), or enabling the mentioned config option, but know that will replace the error with large lag spikes, and is highly discouraged

Correct, higher weight groups override lower weight groups for calculations, and stuff set on a user always overrides stuff inherited from groups. Same rules apply for permission calculation

Did Essentials.build stop working with luckperms? About a year ago it worked so that people couldn't open (for example) Dark Oak Doors, but they could open Oak doors. The permissions have not been changed, and using verbose it no longer shows as an available permission. I made sure both EssentialsX and LP were on the most recent update.

You can configure the storage method LuckPerms uses in the config.yml. There are local and remote types, you need a remote one so all LuckPerms instances interact with the same data thus syncing

If the scoreboard plugin has built in placeholders for the player's prefix then you can use that, otherwise, you're gonna have to wait for PlaceholderAPI to add support for 1.20.6
