Welp LP hasn't changed anything either, and it's not our responsibility to deal with fake players.
That being said, skimming the stacktrace, it looks like Worldguard is triggering the permission checks so go talk to them, though I'd guess they'll probably send you back to citizens too

Citizens came back and said LuckPerms could add a change to protect against this is what we meant. If they added an intentional check for if the input is an NPC then return generic result instead of looking up the permission database, it'd prevent this issue (and potentially others) I dunno how easy that would be for you to do but just thought I would mention here.

Hello. I updated to velocity yestarday and i have a permission isue. With bungee it was working perfectly find and i didnt touch anything at all.
The only fix was to apply the permission to the specific player but in the group it won work.

you may have to /lp user <uuid> clear to completely remove them from that.

There are storage solutions that are flatfile, but we discourage manually editing permissions.
There is an editor that makes things fairly easy, and wildcards help as well. I can be a chore to setup perms, but you usually do the bulk of it once.

Clarifying question really: Can you use a datapack to call luckperms to adjust a group's permissions.
Context: I have a datapack where a regular user can hit a button and call a command related to a mod. In order for the regular user to do that, they need access to the command.. and we dont want that ability. So I would like to run the following:

i would recommend using a plugin to allow something like clickable signs to "self-assign" groups instead of having players directly use /lp user <username> parent add <group>
its more intuitive, probably easier to setup, and harder to accidentally introduce a permission exploit

I would use a profiler to try and find out what's going on - it's almost definitely not LuckPerms, but it could be literally anything else. The error you're seeing is probably just cause LP was the first thing to try and use a tiny bit of RAM, while the server had none to give

Hey guys I am trying to set up the ServerSigns plugin right now. However, whenever I try to use the hasperms: rule it doesn't seem to properly check for it. It will either always be negative, or positive. Do I have to do something else for groups created with lp, or am I just doing it wrong to begin with? I just use svs add <if> hasperms:[GROUPNAME] etc.
Also, I'm sorry if this is not 100% the place but I don't really know where else to ask and wanted to make sure it wasn't a weird interaction with lp

A permission check on a group membership should be checking for the node group.groupname such as group.owner. that is how lp saves the membership (see /lp editor)

I'm assuming this is referring to your chat, LuckPerms has nothing to do with how your chat is formatted. MultiVerse may be injecting into your chat for the world placeholder, but LuckPerms is only acting as a supplier for prefixes/suffixes/meta.

I want to do something a little complicated but I’ve simplified it for my comment here. Say I want to make a command called /speed where players are able to set a speed value. If they have the permission speed.20, then they can set their speed value to anything 1-20. If they have the permission speed.5, they can set their speed value to anything 1-5. And the same pattern should work for any whole number. Is there any way to do this? The only way I can think of, and I know this is a very bad idea, is to start from some high number like 100 and loop backwards checking 100 different permissions. Is there a better way?

So i want paid ranks on my backend but not over the entire network? I've tried this but the prefix doesn't show in chat (Im using LPC). I have ranks on my main LP so would that interact and change them?

Pex2 has a support/discussion server, but you cannot access the channels for it. They’ve been made private because it’s not undergoing active development. LuckPerms is their recommended option, and you likely will not find a better alternative to it.

Ok so something new, server #2 (the server with no data) shows server #1's data when doing /lp info or /lp listgroups. But my prefix's and suffix's or even groups aren't showing up to my name on server #support-2
Even doing /lp editor on server #2 shows all the groups that server #1 has, but my prefix or group for myself still hasn't changed

I could probably also solve it if I had a different chat plugin that has build in per-world formatting and doesn't use luckperms contexts like LPC does. Any reccomendations?
