"Parents" are inheritance. Just like you inherit genes from your parents, a group/user inherits perms from it's parent (another group). A user "having" a rank means they inherit it
"Weight" is used in determining a player's primary group (which some other plugins use), as well as handling if a user inherits from multiple groups and some permissions overlap
"Tracks" are just a list of groups, that you can promote or demote a user on.

A primary group is just "Which is user X's main group". In most servers, every player will have exactly one group, so that's it.
In other words, when you think of what rank someone is, that's probably their primary group

#

tbh it's kinda a weird concept, a relic from when permission plugins would only allow someone to have one group

uh yeah idk that much about it lol but the one mod I may be a lil sus about and may be conflicting is "morecommands"
other than that fabric-api is a teeny tiny bit outdated but i don't think that should make much of a difference

LuckPerms does not perform any chat/tablist formatting of its own!

LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

You also have the tablist sorting enabled, so you need to give players the perms stylizer.tablist.order.<group name> and change the Tablist_Sorting Order for how you want the ranks to be ordered in the tablist.

Okay first you have to do this, download clojure and install it, you'll probably have to add it to the path, I suggest you install it on WSL purely because the windows version is still in beta.
You'll start with the REPL which stands for "Read Evaluate Print Loop", it's where you can get to play around with it the most
Then you probably want to switch to Linux to fully experience the power of clojure, I use Arch btw
Then install DOOM emacs, not regular emacs, get familiar with the key bindings, get familiar with commands here and there
Read the clojure starters guide and the emacs one too

LuckPerms does not perform any chat/tablist formatting of its own!

LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

After I messed up my perms (owner inherits from default, default inherits from a group which disables all luckperms permissions) and couldn't apply the fix (due to me not having perms) I eventually figured out that server console rules all. So I removed the owner inheriting from default.
But now commands which use /lp instead of /luckperms don't tab-complete but somehow work as intended.

It is safe to send an editor link in public.

Any changes made in the editor have to be applied using the /lp applyedits command - impossible unless the person with the link is also connected to the server and with the required in-game permissions to use LuckPerms commands. There is also a plugin (made by me and my bf) that will add tebex entries when players claim a rank ingame, so that they can later upgrade if you use tebex, and the store will know that there is a rank already present. The plugin is called Tebex Core Sync

Funny thing tho, Spitko is just a forums moderator, not a support member or administrator. So even if it was him, he does not get sent support requests and he also cant interfere with any ban action made by valve, literally the only thing they can do is delete forum posts.

Spitko is well aware of the scam and tells everyone to not reply to any supposed steam support member outside of the actual steam support. they would never contact you using discord anyways

It's extremely flexible and versatile and you can go waaaaay deep down the rabbit hole

Hm used how? I mean LuckPerms itself lets you manage permissions that are provided by other plugins on your Minecraft server (not vanilla though)

With the vanilla gamemode command, no, there are no permissions provided for each individual gamemode
If you have some plugin that is handling the command (like EssentialsX or Nucleus) then yes, you can find its list of perms here #support-1 message

LuckPerms just manages the permissions. EssentialsX does /sethome, and /tpa, Grief Prevention gives you /claim.

Then you'll want to get something like EssentialsX (https://essentialsx.net/) for those commands (/tpa /home etc) and GriefPrevention (https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/1884/) for claims; then with LuckPerms you will be able to fine-tune what things people can and cannot do (although if it's a small enough server, the default settings and adjustments should be fine!)
You should really read the documentation for each of those though, Paper, EssX, GP and LP as well
