STill excused because as you can read from the article above, IPMI is a very insecure protocol, it offers a lot more then just hardware reading, you can also use it to access the console, which is why datacenters preffer to disable IPMI unless asked otherwise by the user. If you take a look at other hosters besides OVH, most are not monitoring the hardware for the users ( unless its a VPS obviously )

btw, the PX series of hetzner servers come with a IPMI interface ( so don't get that xP )

The No.1 rule in the IT is to trust nobody, that also includes your hosters. Errors can always happen, either by human mistake or by faulty software. I know for a fact that just one other person besides me can access my server.

I did a internship at the KRZ Lippe, all data sensetive servers use a raid-1 with at least 4 drives, two brand new, one used and one old, to minimize the risk of them all failing at once

That's always the deal.

Now while it is true that tapping into this data has it's potential security flaws and implications you still have to understand that through IPMI you still don't get access to the server at least not without rebooting the system.
And trust me. Other companies use IPMI too. Else rebooting a server from the webinterface is impossible

When IPMI is used, it is always used internally, because it is a insecure protocol. If you were to expose it to the public, you can be sure that it wouldnt take long to access it. There are a lot of alternatives out there that have a better security, but ipmi is the only unified standard for hardware monitoring. Thats why I stay with my statement, use Nagios or Zabbix which can be end-to-end encrypted

I never trust anybody when they say "Its 100% secure", I don't even trust myself, because most databreaches have been caused due to human error, let it just be that the admin is sleepy and does a command typo
( I once accidentally did chown -R someuser:somegroup .* because I was way too tired and just wanted all hidden files to change the ownership, but I ended up changing the folder ownerships across the whole server, the system did not boot anymore after that )

You do know that a hard-reset literally means that someone is walking to your server to press the power button? ( which is why it takes a while )
a soft reset means that a ctrl-alt-delete gets sent to your server, the standard of rebooting a machine ( unless its windows lolz )
and a shutdown machine .. well I learned the hard way that a hardware reset and a soft reset does not start the system up anymore. I had to call the datacenter to start the server again after I accidentally shut it down <.<

Well i would say go with NCP (since it's free) or Vulcan (paid) but if you have some custom enchants and this stuff NCP will 60-70% of time most likely flag false positives as stated in description of the plugin.

You can disable features with Badlion Client Mod API and Lunar Client API but keep in mind that with Lunar Client API you're limited what you can do and what not 🙂 is not like BLM API where you can disable 90% of the mods and features

/dmenu open serverselector_menu -> /hiddencommand serverselector_menu

/hiddencommand serverselector_menu = hiddencommand.menu.serverselector

So that i dont need to give them dmenu permissions but the "hiddencommand.menu.serverselector" instead , but they will still be able to open the dmenu serverselector (in this case) with /hiddencommand serverselector_menu

the latter. so you can split the app's javascript into smaller chunks, in LPW's case it's mostly done at the route level. so say you navigate to luckperms.net, this will only load the components required for the home page. then if you navigate to the "download" page, it will load the components for that page and so on. it also pre-fetches them, so it loads them before the user clicks on the links, this just helps speed up the loading time for the initial page load
