That's not what we were referring to though. Check your server properties file and ensure online-mode= true. You have no reason running an offline mode server, nor using a plugin that may be altering UUIDs. LuckPerms is by no means at fault here, if that's what you're concerned about.

If the group not receiving the prefix is inheriting permissions from other groups, then its possible you have a group with feeding into your no prefix group that has no prefix. If the group with no prefix is weighted higher then I think it would take precedence and prevent the prefix you want from being added. You would need to adjust group weights then I think.

LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

Did you maybe OP yourself in the console and not apply permissions in LP for the other plugin afterwards? Only thing I can think of is if you have permission being OPd through console, but the plugins giving the text color based on permission level isn't seeing the correct permission. Not too sure though.

How-to test permissions

Small list of things for you to make sure when testing permissions:
1. Don't test as op, your players/general staff will most likely not have op
2. Make sure you don't have any special permissions (e.g. * or the same permission you are testing) on your user (/lp user <user> permission info)
3. Make sure your parent groups are the ones the target audience you are testing will have (if you are testing mod perms, don't have owner as parent)
4. Use verbose to see exactly what's going on, what permissions are being checked

Not quite true; as a player only, you can toggle receiving LP log notifications with /lp log notify. Can't do that with console though, there's intentionally no way to disable stuff being logged to console.

Either way, in @rare reef's case it's moot; that message is not a log, it's the normal output of the permission set command. There's no way to disable command feedback for LP commands.

LP lists permissions it knows about, and it learns about permissions existing by them being checked, which is often done on permissions for root commands, but specific argument nodes may not be checked until you actually try running the command or try tab completing it
