Powerranks and LP are not compatible. You can only have one of the 2 plugins installed on a server. You will need to remove one of them, I would highly encourage removing powerranks as it is no longer maintained

No, LP doesn't ship with any permissions set up by default. Every server has different plugins/mods and desired group structure, so premade permission setups are basically impossible.

LuckPerms does not perform any chat/tablist formatting of its own!

LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

Can anyone tell me what REALLY matters to have a lag-free server? The TPS currently are around 13, players mostly say in the building world it is fine but in the farming world (for example) it is kind of lagging and slowly rendering chunks.

The "issue" for me is: 100 opinions on this topic.
The prev. Owner said "MC-servers only use 1 core of a CPU at the time and if this is used fully then the 2nd one etc. So the GHz-amount is important."
Others / the hoster said "you need more cores" (he looked into the sheet of "spark-profiler" )
others say "more RAM"

WHAT is true? At the moment we are like 8-12 players (sometimes only 3-5 active ones) and I don't want to upgrade something that is not useful.
Before it was like 10GB used (and 20GB available??) but an around 4 GHz CPU.

Specs now:

• 12 GB RAM (currently indeed 11.42 GB according to the webpanel in usage)
• AMD Epyc 7402p ( 2.80 GHz according to google; currently around 120-180% of 300% usage, small jumps to higher usage for 1-2sec)
• not a root-server.
• paper
• 1.21.4

So, the previous owner is mostly correct. The core logic loop for MC is indeed only a single thread, however there's lots of other stuff that runs on other threads, so if you have the resources, you typically want to allocate at least 2 cores to a MC server instance. More than like 4 isn't necessary though.

More memory is not a magical solution - hell, it can be the opposite. Any more than 16GB for a typical server is not recommended, 12GB is fine. Note that your web panel can only see the current heap allocation, a rather useless metric. It'll trend upwards until you reach the configured Xmx value, then plateau there, regardless of how much memory your server is actually using. Only in-server stuff (i.e. Spark) or certain CLI tools can see the actual memory usage

GHz is just a rough idea of how fast a CPU is, but it's not super useful. A 5GHz core from one manufacturer may perform differently from a 5GHz core from another manufacturer

That's an intentional, hardcoded limit. Editors are capped to 500 players for size reasons - Luck's server only has so much space, after all.
If you wish to access a specific user in the editor, you can always use /lp user <who> editor; this'll open an editor session which contains only that user.
