Does anyone know of a tutorial on how to let LuckPerms unlock commands for a player through some sort of shop? Pretty new to all of this plugin stuff, so everything still seems a bit overwhelming

^ you need the shop to run the command to add a permission to the user. Or a group. Depends what you want to add
It would be the exact same command that youd use in your chat with the only difference that the player-part needs a placeholder since you do not yet know the name of who will buy something. That placeholder is provided by the plugin running the command, so in your case the shop one

What tab does doesnt go for all plugins. Tab provides a bridge and also can directly get stuff from lp.
So youre having this the wrong way around. The papi expansion is depending on lp, and with the bridge you can add papi support from backend to bungeetab. Not from tab to the backends

the issue is that when I updated the server to 1.18.2 the perms just kinda broke; the users with HoD have luckperms.* as a permission node, but they cannot do things such as add parents, they can only add prefixes at the moment, they should be able to do everything with luckperms

Nah. you can run /lp export to take a backup of LuckPerms, add new db credentials, and /lp import <export name> after restarting. they're in different tables, so they should be fine.

- the permission you added has a typo in it
- the permission you added is an alias, eg using tp instead of teleport etc
- you have another permission plugin installed, which blocks lp from working
- you are not in the group you are testing for and do not have inheritance set
- you have another plugin installed that has the same command, therefore giving you a no permission message

You must be missing either a chat plugin or vault (or both?). Remember LuckPerms is not a chat plugin, it won't forcefully slap your server with prefixes - you need plugins asking LP for them and display them.

I never told you to delete the db. _11 said to delete tables when offline, and let LP re-create them. never manually modify your DB, unless you know what you're doing.

Also, if you have set a prefix and you have vault and a chat or tablist plugin, you are most likely one of those people who think luckperms on the bungee is enough and that the bungee lp can give prefixes to your chat plugin or tablist that is NOT installed on the bungee but instead on the backend/paper/spigot server

You need at least a valid editor link to restore a lost setup. Or a file from it, depending what your storage method was before it happened.
If you used mysql or another remote storage method before, then reconnecting to it would be the way to go.

Every link you generate contains whatever was present when you generated it, but this data is only kept for 7 days. So your only chance at this point is to find an editor link that has not yet expired

Or you could also simply go with the good old 'parent set', but settrack is a bit safer since it only lets you tab in group names from the track you specify so you can't get them confused :)

When being on the oneblock server, the spawn command works fine. However with the exact same context's set with the balance permission (aside from the lobby), it doesn't work. I don't quite understand what's going wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

I see. Are you using TAB by neznamy? If so, that one has prefix overrides in its groups.yml file for a few ranks such as owner and admin. If you wish to use only luckperms provided prefixes in tab, you can safely delete the extra formats from there and only keep the format for __DEFAULT__

You'll have to go into a bit more detail- What permission and what command are we talking about and how/what did you set?

Generally speaking, the plugin/software 'selling' it must launch the appropriate luckperms command to your server on purchase.
For stores, tebex for example can do that.
So it's a matter of getting the software and setting the command correctly. It doesn't have much to do with luckperms itself really.

You need to give whoever or whatever group you want to access it the appropriate permissions, depending on what you want them to be able to do
If you already did this and still are not sure whats missing, try /lp verbose command <playername> <command> (while the player is deopped) and see if the list spits out something that says 'undefined' and sounds like its related

Make sure you applied the changes. And if you are sure you did, again, use verbose and look at the list it gives you.
Also make sure luckperms is your only permission plugin. Things like powerranks don't work with it

You shouldn't let that plugin change uuids to begin with. Luckperms will save the user's data using the uuid given and if another plugin changes the uuid, the user will not be recognizable for lp and therefore be given the default role on that new uuid, handling the player as new player.

So it's up to your tablist plugins' sorting algorithm
If you use TAB by neznamy, update it if you can, if you also use eglow, update that (old version breaks tab in some ways) and if you use protocol lib, downgrade that to 4.8.0 (5.0 also breaks tab)

The same as you would with text or nicknames
The format depends on what your chat or tablist plugins can interpret. Most use &#RRGGBB, some plugins add the ability to do gradients with a weird formular. Or you could use some helping tool like this https://rgb.birdflop.com/ to make sick prefixes. But then again, if you have a tablist plugin that uses &#RRGGBB and your chat plugin uses §R§R§G§G§B§B well then that's a problem
