LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

Heya! I'm trying to help our server owner track down a memory leak that seems to be stemming from luckperms - but the tricky part is that I know like everything has to hook into the permissions system on bootup for it to work so removing luckperms and seeing literally all of the lag and memory issues disappear has a high chance of being just a false positive
However with that in mind, does luckperms have any known issues with handling a lot of meta data for people? Or default groups?

Hello, I'm currently having an Issue with LuckPerms. I've deopped myself to test things. I've done the lp user <name> set luckperms.* true command as it said on the wiki. In the console it said I sucessfully gave myself the permission, and it shows up in the web editor. However ingame I still don't have the permission. I'm running a Paper/Bukkit 1.16.4

LuckPerms does not perform any chat/tablist formatting of its own!

LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

server context will refer to the server setting in LP config, and for each LP instance running it will always be the same (because it's one value from its own config)

whereas the world context refers where the player is in for that LP instance (for bukkit LP, world is the world you are in; for bungee LP, world is the sub-server you are in)

it's.. kind of misleading but that's how it is; there is an open issue to change that but it ain't an easy transition

LuckPerms does not perform any chat/tablist formatting of its own!

LuckPerms only acts as the source for prefixes / suffixes, it doesn't actually apply them. You need an appropriately configured chat/tablist formatting plugin for them to be displayed. If the values appear correctly when you run /lp user <user> info, LuckPerms is doing its job!

Running a network and getting UUID mismatches?

Please double check that:
1. BungeeCord config.yml has ip_forward and online_mode set to true
2. All backend servers' spigot.yml has bungeecord set to true
3. All backend servers' server.properties have online-mode set to false

Make sure LP is the only permissions plugin
Make sure you have Vault
Make sure you have a chat plugin (EssX alone won't do, you also need EssXChat)

And the rule of thumb is that if the prefix shows in lp user <user> info then LuckPerms is working fine
