Like we assumed PVE was taking really long bcs the skill trees were so elaborate, a lot of the work must be going to them and that's why we've been waiting so long, and that's why we've been patient and why OW2 PVP had to be split from PVE because PVE would take long.
But then, after waiting for so long. YEARS with overwatch barely surviving with no updates just to hopefully have a cool PVE mode with a PVP update, they just say "Lol, yknow the reason the PVE was looked forward to and also why it's taking so long? Even tho we sunk countless hours into it as developers and wasted the entire fanbase's time waiting for it, it's scrapped now ā¤ļø fuck you ā¤ļø"
Like if it was TOO complicated (Who could've predicted it????? :OOOO there's like 35 heroes!!!) at least change it to still have the spirit of the original idea but be more manageable???

Tbh having new missions be tied to seasons is such a bad idea, a ton of downtime would happen- Fr they should have it be a weekly thing, like each season has a few missions and they drop weekly instead of it being something you can just speedrun through and there's little downtime between cool things that happened
Sucks that they promised so much for PVE but it's really shaping up to be a big dissapointment
Like the hype for the new reveals and plot points are gonna be fucking dead by the time next season drops with the continuation

We have an awesome team still working to deliver PVE, but because it's not going to be the same PVE that was promised by a different team 4 years ago, they're treating it like it doesn't exist anymore. These content creators complain so much when they're spreading bad information that has a negative impact on the game. At the end of the day, they only care about themselves and their clickbait is more important for their wallets, even though it probably won't make them that much more money even.. They're making people believe that because this system was dropped, PVE may as well not exist. Like I understand it's a big, important part of PVE, but do they genuinely believe that people would care about the hero progression system and grinding these PVE missions if the PVE missions themselves were poor? The base missions of PVE need to be great for people to care about these systems that build upon it. I just saw in SVB's stream people saying that PVE may as well not exist so these videos are having this negative, misleading impact on the community already..

We all waited for so long, watched overwatch 1 die in hopes ow2 would be good
then overwatch 2 comes, it's just overwatch one with like 3 new heroes, 6 maps and new graphics (This is after basically 4 years of nothing). We didn't mind "Oh, a lot of focus was put on PVE, it's fine!"
Then they just say "Yeah those 4 years were for fucking nothing bcs we scrapped it all anyway ā¤ļø anyway, BUY OUR SKINS!!!"
This may be just due to recency bias and just general anger at the absurdity of this news but I'm legitimately not sure if I even want to stay playing the game it legitimately doesn't feel worth it. I may check out the PVE ig but the wording of it in the video made it even sound like it could be payed for which would SUCK ASS.
I'm just generally not hopeful for the future now tbh-
