Arcanaeum Polls

Greetings, seekers! This week’s entry in the Arcanaeum is a little different, and kind of long, but bear with me. This month is officially the 12th we’ve been doing this, meaning we’ve gone a whole year! We’ve gone through all of the most interesting Daedric Princes to play Devil’s advocate for, and the next Arcanaeum will be our last Birthsign to cover. As a result, we’re trying to collect feedback and refine the Arcanaeum. I'd like to start us off with polls on some of the Mage team's ideas going forward.

Polls

First, we want to extend the length of each Arcanaeum entry. We figure this might reduce the feeling of the Arcanaeum being background noise, should allow us to encourage longer discussions, and will reduce how quickly we go through topics.

Second, we want to start hosting lectures. These will be much like the old Black Books, but simpler. They’ll often deep-dive on a topic that a Mage or others who are particularly interested and knowledgeable on a topic. They might also be made in response to requests or popular topics.

Third, we want to start hosting discussions. Rather than being more directly guided by someone ‘on the podium’ so to speak, they’re more open ended, allowed to drift to other topics, and we Mages will mainly be encouraging further discussion.

Fourth, we want to start hosting easter egg hunts. These will open up with a question or prompt from a Mage hinting at an obscure piece of lore, sometimes trivial, sometimes significant. We can discuss whether people work together to find it, race to see who finds it fastest, or even request that people DM us the answer to keep from spoiling others!

Finally, come join us in Arcanaeum Feedback! We're having more in-depth discussions on each of these, brainstorming, and bouncing ideas off of one another for other ways to refine the Arcanaeum.
