Yeah way off. It was during the mid 1800s, there was an influx of irish Catholics in New York at the time because of the potato famine in Ireland. A lot of em were poor so they overpopulated the slummy areas of the city.

Decided to do some reading on the 5 points gang. There were around for some time.

Yeah the 5 points were around for a bit. The book the movie is based on goes into more detail about all the different gangs, which I'm reading currently. Giving me lots of ideas

Obv a bit different the Mafia style gangs in the 30s, but it will be cool to kind of blend the two.

The battle at the end of the movie really happened. It was one the biggest conflicts New York ever had. Over a 1000 gang members fought in the street causing a huge riot. Police tried to stop it but ended up choosing sides and fighting one another. It wasn't till the national guard came in and starting murdering everybody that the riot dissipated.

One idea I had for a gang was have it be made up of a defunct private police agency that devolved into a large gang. Which realistically, in Umburgh would make sense, and also make sense why they would be powerful.

So I was talking to Jason about the big bad gang in Episode 2. I was reading the a lot of 19th century New York gangs had really colorful names and some of them started out as volunteer fire departments and devolved in crime syndicates. I thought it would be cool idea if one of Umburgh's private police agencies became corrupt and defunct, devolving into a large criminal gang. They would have the upper hand of having police training, influence and better weaponry and things like shields and body armor. They would be a big thread to Glassjaw's gang.

Now going with kinda silly sound gang names that sound dumb on first impression but make sense once you understand why they are called that seems to be a common theme with old gangs so here are some I came up with. Lemme know which ones you guys think sounds best.

The Donut Eaters, The Blue Shirts, The Jack Boots, The Roach Crushers, The Porkchop Boys.

I like Roach Crushers the best personally, it derives from Victorian London slang where people would call cops beetle crushers, because the cops would crunch bugs under their boots as they walked on patrol, but also could be used as a metaphor that they crush their competition under there powerful boots.

No,all weapons can be chucked. Once the weapon breaks or the ammo is spent you can Chuck it or drop it. You can also chuck at any time.

You can Chuck and pick back up on repeat if you want. So if you wanted to throw it at an enemies face or family jewels. That's a viable option.

If an enemy were to throw a pipe and you dodged out of the way, it's possible they could hit another enemy in the balls by mistake.

Since unless there are aces I'm missing that got showcased before october, I think I got them all and my initial idea doesn't need much changing

So I have an idea I just came up with and I'm just gonna throw out there: The Rat Whisperer. In the Ace's prime he used to be a telecommunications guy who did alot of espionage and intel collecting. After the fall of the Aces he was forced to live on the streets. After some time of living on the streets and in the sewers he started to tame rats, figuring out he could use them to spread information to other Aces by attaching messages on them as opposed to radio which he no longer possesses. He also uses the sewers as his own personal highway where he listens in on conversations via the drains to gather intel.

Might be a bit cliché, just throwing the idea out there.

Name: The Magician
In the Prime: The Magician was skilled at deception and misdirection, but his true talent was with disguises and false identities. He often inserted himself into the middle of criminal operations as a double agent and reported back to the A.C.E.S with loads of confidential information. He enjoyed anonymity, so very little was actually known about him.
After the Fall: The Magician was never seen nor heard from again, however he was always around. He still enjoys infiltrating wicked organizations and dropping off an anonymous report for the police to act on, all while dressing up in millions of personas, from lowly bruisers, to well dressed crime lords, or even some old lady on the street.

I put some thought into this one, hence why it's so concise

lol, I had a similar idea that literally kept me awake at night. I was gonna call him Dr Decoy or Mr Mirror and his thing would be "steal" people's identity by wearing a mask of their face which he would keep under his trench-coat. He was an infiltrator who did espionage & assassinations and could change the pitch of his voice to sound like anyone when you were talking on the phone/radio, which was useful to lure out his victims to fake meetings.

He would normally be equipped with a silenced pistol but due to his disguises it could sometimes be difficult to hide. But that's okay because he had an ace up his sleeve, and a sharp one at that as he had a custom crafted playing card that was sharp as a razor which he uses to slit the throat of his enemies. He would always hide his real face under his large hat, so no one knows what he looks like.

Yeah, it's been a big effort. When we got picked up by NB we had the demo halfway done, but we had to push it way back because we had to restart everything from scratch by switching to Unity on NB's request (which is good in the long run) The intial build we showed off in the trailer took about 2 and half years to create, so it'll take some time to recreate what we made.

It's not gonna take 2 and half years this time around tho...

Don't expect Aces to be your run of the mill Doom shooter. Gotta be a big more clever with combat. Think, improvise. Use the environment and props to your advantage and decide which weapons you will pick up and fight with.
