like i said, can get away with less if i'm smart with blending
but means it'll be a heavy burden when making the blend tree
these enemies reacted to being shot in the helmet, the head, each limb, groin, chest anywhere
the only problem right now, i started using godot like 2 weeks ago

right now, the weapons function identically to their PS1 counter parts, minor tweaks like the shotgun having more pellets per shot and the 5-10 RPM differences between weapons
A gun so powerful, you can shoot time itself

its what gives it a slingy feel to it

What softwares do you use to make mods? Like what do you use to code things, model stuff, and that type of stuff?

“Immersive sim” game idea:
Walking down your suburb at night, with a different task each time you play, like taking out the garbage or going to the car to find something in it. You have 3 meters: temperature, time and stress. Occasional strange noises, being in the dark for too long or suspicious people will cause your stress to go up. Lowest and highest points of temperature, as well as your time running out, do too. You have to pick the clothes before starting the mission, and the more effective they are on regulating your temperature - the more time they take at the start of the mission. Alternatively you can use water or dumpster fires to regulate the temperature. The goal is to finish your task, avoid the stress bar filling up and go home.
You may also have some handy things like low-charge phone and old shoes. Being on your phone keeps your stress bar at bay, but you can’t use it for too long or it will turn off. Old shoes will make you walk much faster but also increase your stress gain because of their condition and etc.

i was thinking of three possible starts to the story, the polish occupation, the invasion of england or french resistance

i was thinking of having something else but having a more recent setting with these controls would be kinda uncanny i think
the game will still be shoot bad guys, plant objective, destroy this and that and walk through the level though regardless of the setting

i just feel like mr art school not being mentioned makes the whole german reich feel much more bigger, like he's not specifically interested in deterring your actions, and you're not trying to take him down, more or less try to hinder his army to make way for the big guys
plus i mean it's all so cliche if you think of it, you kill big funny man, his army falls and ww2 ends, happy end
whereas we all know just taking out their leader won't automatically mean victory
so yeah
the game won't be about directly interfering with the war itself, more like set up the events that later happened

instead it would be a big resistance faction between the allies, multiple countries and such, running operations from their own HQ and provide help either as spies, carry out tasks or set up later plans
i also plan to not directly involve russia (like no set pieces taking place in russia)
not because i'm afraid, i just feel like the WW2/cold war era of russia is also oversaturated

when they tried taking over england but failed
nothing really holds me back from saying "well, the air force didn't succeed, so germany takes a more hands on approach getting in and doing the rest of the job, trying to take over"
and you get in, retire some bases the germans made in england, steal their supplies and blow up tanks
and with the forces being weakened, england has greater chance of success, hence leading to the real world event of repelling germany
this has to be somewhere the middle of the game tho

if i use simply add as the blending mode, the volumetric fog fucks with it and you can see the square around the raindrops

just have there be a transparent sphere around each active player/enemy that renders over the rain but not everything else and have that go away when the enemy dies
I'm already using the stencil buffer to disable decals for characters.
I did tinker with using the stencil buffer for rain occlusion but this was before I changed the way decals work

I'll need to ask the programmer but iirc all of the fog affects are tied to a specific layer, and the cones material specifically acts like a mask layer in photoshop
for environments that had 0 dynamic lighting we'd just have the map be Fullbright but for areas with partial lighting like this we just put a spotlight at the base of the flashlight cone and had it point and expand as close as we could

shift + A opens the sub menu of adding meshes, lights or cameras
but if you want the easy way and i know you do
click on edit
preferences
select add-ons
and type in images as planes in the search
tick it and save the settings
after that if you press shift + a, highlight image, images as planes then you can import your image and blender adds it as is
also if you press numpad 1-3-7 and 9 you can switch to orthographic views which help line things up

probs will be more of a polish thing i might smooth some of the animations out and expand a few
I mean if you're using Godot, you can adjust the interpolation easing on the shotgun lever flip to start violent and return to the idle pose slower

they resemble the originals, but are not one and the same

it's not like these guns are visually complex in the first place
there is only so many ways you can model XY before hitting roadblocks

you can only animate a sword swing until someone calls you out on resembling XY game's animation
