I’ve only played the first level of each. I normally play high difficulty regular play or low difficulty any% style speedrun for DOOM 2016. Dusk and AE are both definitely different

Maybe it just takes time to get into/used to the games. I felt more smooth with dusk. Though I was a big hexen 2 fan, and never did really play Quake, so you’d think I’d feel more comfy with AE

just depends if you do a challenge run. Ultra Nightmare itself isn’t as bad once you get used to it, just can’t get hit. Then there’s the alpha weapon rotation and instant siege thing. Challenge runs are where 2016 really shows its difficulty.

It just has a few problems with weapons becoming redundant.

I just made the connection because I figured for dusk ||it went back to town for the final map and underground somewhere hence the "BENEATH DUSK" quote and the sunlight but I could always be wrong, and then like Leon said another dimension where a galaxy is tiny so I just associated space and that's how I reached the connection, one underground one in space but who knows||

because while Dusk has a lot of charm in its low poly models, Amid Evil to me equally is as vibrant

The enemy designs in AE are all really unique, and each episode really makes the most of their combat repertoire, but what inspired the designs of, say, the green double wielding axe guys in the Solar Solstice?
Or the giant Moon Guardian?

most enemies we made by doing their functionality first, so making visuals was easier since we knew how the would move/attack
like the green guys from solar were originally just the same as the astral equinox bronze guys
