This game has some AMAZING moments in it. E2M2 on hard, I have only a little bit of whisper's edge mana and my axe left. One health. I proceed to soul trigger, dice up like four enemies with one swing from whisper. The rebound hits some more tanky enemies and softens them up, which I then drill-down with my axe while circle strafing. I run out of soul the moment he dies, the room's quiet, I sigh...
And then an enemy comes out from around a corner and sneezes on me a little to hard, causing me to die.

@night ginkgo I have a few suggestions for the levels to improve flow/reduce backtracking when going for secrets
In E1M1 this thing could easily have an elevator to bring you back up, because going back to the twin-key entrance just for a medium green and blue mana seems a bit pointless
Not exactly a secret, but in E2M1, it's very easy to fall off this ledge here, which forcing you to do some backtracking. Either a fence to block off falling or some steps after reaching this would help
In E2M2, this platform here could just bring you back up, instead of having to start again from the bottom
E3M3 is probably the worst because of how big the map is, but right above the secret Aeturnum is basically where you go to progress, so again a rising platform would really help
Same with this next secret on the upper level, a moving platform to bring you back up would be very much appreciated
I don't know what's the deal with this cliff in E4M1 but being able to just climb it instead of jumping down back to the start would be nice
In E4M2 the "flying powerup" secret seems a bit pointless since you can't go over these buildings or anything. Maybe if one of these windows was broken then it would be worth it as a shotcut, otherwise players would just go straight for the Aeturnum
Last one, in E4M3, this secret large tomato could use a platform or wind tunnel to bring you back up, instead of going through all the platforms again

You could weaken an enemy with one Whisper's Edge hit, then zap them with the Voltride
That way you need less hits

It is so beautiful. the music and atmosphere is possibly the best i have ever experienced in my life.
I had legit moments in this video where i fell completely silent and just had to stand still to admire the stunning view and music. I got goosebumps. I actually felt those moment in my heart. And that is something that no other game managed to accomplish as much as this one. So GREAT JOB @ NEWBLOOD

Yeah, it forces you to play differently and discover that some weapons are actually pretty damn useful against certain enemies
Like I never would have used the staff of Azure Orb against the spike mines if I hadn't played Warrior Mode

I have my computer connected up to a plasma screen, so for me the AA settings don't make much of a difference. But I can see if you are running it on a LED screen at regular HD that anti aliasing might make a difference.

I found Arcane Expanse to be harder with Warrior Mode
Forges only really gave me trouble with the environmental dangers and getting lost in E5M3
I wonder if Solar blademaster and Solar Archmage deserve buff in their attack speed, cause their attacks are quite easy to avoid.
Solar Archmage's fire dissipates quickly compared to Solar Knights' flame lances.
Solar Berserkers (green ones) and Solar Knights (guys with a shield) are much deadlier.

@tardy cove I know I'm in the minority here, but I really think the switch-hunting in Hexen is often over stated. On my most recent playthrough I made sure to take notes of things that look like they would be affected by switches when I first saw them (more like a CRPG) and I didn't have any problems. When I was 10 years old it was a different story admittedly

I finally beat Forge on evil difficulty and unlocked the corresponding achievement, so started Arcane Expanse for the first time...oh man!
I personally believe the real challenge begins from Ep 5,
Ep 4's solar knights/green chargers are tough but still doable compared to enemies from Ep5/6.
Enemies in Ep 1 to 4 are breeze before those in Ep 5/6
Btw Voltride suddenly becomes powerless against those spheres, help?
It usually destroys a sphere with 3 hits, then suddenly can't destroy them at all!
Now I realized how powerful chain-lightning from Voltride thing is!

Well, it feels very disconnected in terms of flow. Episode 2 and onwards has an ascension of difficulty that makes sense, things get progressively harder in a way that feels very good, but Selenic Stronghold/Astral Equinox in general feels a little too easy compared to the rest of the game. I think I saw this in the discussion tab on the community page, but are there plans to perhaps bring Ep 1 up a step ?
I mean EP1 is supposed to be easy really for people getting used to the game

Normal, because Evil difficulty scares me and I'm doing hard in my next playthrough.

Do you think a visual effect of needles falling from the enemy as they move would convey their attack better? The Boss of the Forge has a similar effect that conveys his invincibility period.
Implying that they're full to nearly exploding with their appropriate projectile.

But if they go in while crouching, they get stuck in a loop of repeatedly falling and 'hitting the ground' that prevents any sort of movement without holding your mouse at a very specific angle.
